Biography Roy Benavidez

Roy Benavidez was a United States Army Master Sergeant who received the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Vietnam War. He dropped out of school at a young age and joined the military. In 1965, during the Vietnam War, Benavidez participated in a mission to rescue soldiers and was gravely wounded but still helped evacuate survivors. For his heroic actions, Benavidez received the Medal of Honor, the highest military honor awarded by the United States government.
