JOB SUMMARY
The Nursing Supervisor duties include provision of managerial and clinical links
between the nurse manager and department direction in their absence, and the
administrator-on-call. Additionally, this position will include knowledge of Utilization
Review rules and regulations as they assist physicians and staff in assigning admission
status.
Nurse Supervisor Job Description:
The RN Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the clinical support staff. The RN
Supervisor will provide or coordinate the provision of disease-specific educational
support to patients and also assist with in-service training to staff.
Essential Duties
Ensures the health center and staff provide an environment of care that supports
the principles of patient and family centered care by establishing effective
partnerships characterized by mutual respect and inclusion in the care process.

Ensures the delivery of high quality services that complies with patient safety
goals and implements risk management procedures according to BPH policies

Is responsible for the day to day supervision of the nursing and clinical support
staff including but not limited to: hiring, training/orienting, disciplining, conducting
ongoing performance, delegation of work responsibilities and daily assignments.
The following nursing and clinical staff report directly to the RN Supervisor:
licensed vocational nurses, medical assistants, referral staff, and case
management (asthma, diabetes, women’s health).

In collaboration with the Quality Management Director participates in the BPH

of patient care including but not limited to: discipline specific chart audits, triage,
and other quality improvement initiatives.
Ensures compliance with all infection control and environment of care
regulations.
Participation in trainings and quality improvement activities including the Clinical
Quality Management Committee, and compliance with policies and guidelines
Knowledge of the Patient-Centered Medical model
Assist the Clinic Administrator prepare for any internal or external audits by
ensuring compliance with any and all regulations.
Ensures the daily monitoring of quality controls and medication logs; implements
appropriate follow-up as necessary.
Participates in hazardous waste and infection control assignments as required
which may include being designated as an emergency responder to a hazardous

Be a member of good standing of the accredited professional organization of
nurses;

JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care
by
promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with
physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological
support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members. The
RN is responsible to the Clinical Manager for the assigned Department.
Job Purpose:
The staff nurse helps to ensure that a caring, creative environment is achieved within
the allocated ward / directorate, paying attention to the highest possible quality of
nursing care. The staff nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the
