Organic Chemistry Compound Building

The document provides instructions for an organic chemistry assignment to build organic compounds by dragging atoms and bonds into slides labeled with the name of the compound. It gives examples of how to build compounds like 2-propanol and notes compounds must fit in the slide frame and carbon backbones can have 90-degree bends. The remaining slides show the names of 15 organic compounds to build.

CHEM 2301

Assignment 4: Organic Chemistry

Name:
Instructions
In order to build your organic compounds:
1. The name of the compound is provided in the title of the slide.
2. Look outside the slide’s borders to find the atoms and bonds you will need to complete each compound.
3. Drag all of the components you need into the frame and arrange them into the compound listed.
Compounds must be contained within the frame of the slide to be graded.
4. If a carbon backbone doesn’t fit horizontally (as we have discussed) you can have 90-degree bends in it.
5. There should be enough atoms and bonds provided to solve every question. If not, just copy and paste
more!

An example of how to build a compound is provided on the next slide.

While you are welcome to draw your responses and insert a photo into each picture, any
images that appear to be taken from the internet will not be graded.
