The timer circuit(NE555)
shall be easy to make, it's used to drive, by Q1, TR1.
TR1 is a common transformer, pri: 220V sec: 12V, so usually it will work as a lower.
Here we need about 400V, so the transformer will work as an elevator, so it will be
reversed.
Simply the NE555 will put 18V(9+9V from the battery) to the 12V side on the
transformer, on the 220V side there will be about 400V.

VR1:
VR1 is used to tune up the discharge frequency.
Faster sparks = less power and vice versa.

Now TR2, the one I have is from a copier(it's used in a HV unit) but an ignition coil or a
flyback(if u find the correct pins) is good to.
