Arc and Chord Theorems

• If a diameter of a circle is perpendicular to a chord, then it bisects the chord and its arcs.
• The perpendicular bisector of the chord of a circle contains the center of the circle.

• If two chords are equidistant from the center of a circle, then the chords are congruent.
• If two chords are congruent, then they are equidistant from the center of a circle.

• In a circle, congruent arcs have congruent chords.

• In a circle, parallel chords intercept congruent arcs.
