Good day to everyone here in the meeting room and again, thank you for giving me

the privilege to speak in front of you and be heard by the people on this platform.

As a student, I have always been curious on the current situation of the Philippines.
There are so many issues which are happening today, but the one that is sensational
is the registration to vote.

Some of my peers are not that interested in the politics, for they believed that it won’t
affect us, or we won’t be receiving any benefit from the politicians. However as time
goes by, we can say that we are really affected by the decisions made by the elders
in choosing the leaders of our country. This manifested during the outbreak of
pandemic. I do believe that this is a sensitive issue yet I found this topic relatable
and timely on how can we help and contribute as citizens upholding our rights and
privilege.

Have you registered to vote? Have you chosen the leaders you want to be of our
service? Do you have any candidates in mind?

I found it very critical to look at the candidates not on their popularity in social media,
or how good they are in giving their promises and how beautiful their advertisements
on televisions, but we should see their qualifications and their capabilities on being a
leader and their management skills.

As a young teenager, I would like to take a plea on the audience, who are on the
right age who has the power to choose future leaders, to vote wisely and evaluate
well the characters as well as the competencies of the candidates. We, the youth,
are the future and will experience the consequences of your choices on leaders.

Just think about this:

What if the Philippines have leaders who are willing to offer their lives to the service
of the Filipino people? The ones who care for funding the health, education and
security as well as the welfare of all? Who have respect for human dignity,
environment, and to the poor?
It would probably be a beautiful country where we live in, when many other such
things are possible, and not only possible, but many things be accomplished.

Register your vote, for in this simple way, can create a better future for the next
generation.
