SOME ADVICES BEFORE YOU START:
- for this Amigurumi Cat it´s very important to stuff the head firmly
- work in spiral rounds unless otherwise stated
- stuff your Amigurumi as you go
- mark the beginning of your rounds (with a stitch marker)
- The arms, the legs and the tail will be crocheted in the body, so you only need
to sew the head on the body and the ears on the head.
- Before sewing something on the Amigurumi, use pins to fix it and to see if you
like the position.

FOR BEGINNERS
If you just started making amigurumis the color changes might be a little bit
difficult for you. How about using just one color for your first cat? I´m sure this
would also look very cute.

CAT:
Before you start with the body you should finish the legs, the tail and the arms first
because later you will crochet them into the body.

LEGS:
Start with your lighter color:

1. 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2. (inc) x6 (12)

3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)

4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)

Change to darker color

5.-7. 24 sc 3 rounds (24)

8. 9 sc, (dec) x 3, 9 sc (21)

9. 21 sc (21)

10. 8 sc, dec, 1 sc, dec, 8 sc (19)

11. 7 sc, (dec) x 3, 6 sc (16)

12. (2 sc, dec) x 4 (12)

13. (5 sc, inc) x 2 (14)

Stuff the foot

The rest of the legs won´t be stuffed.

14.-19. 14 sc 6 rounds (14)

Change to your lighter color

20.-22. 14 sc 3 rounds (14)

23. (dec, 5 sc) x 2 (12)

Now you need to close the legs with 6 sc.

Before you do that make sure that the toes are looking at each other.Maybe you need to
make 1-3 more sc after round 21 to get that result.

5
Yarn over and sew in the ends.

Make the second leg the same way.

ARMS:
Start with the darker color

1. 5 sc in magic ring (5)

2. (inc) x 5 (10)
3.- 8. 10 sc 6 rounds (10)

Change to lighter color

9-23: 10 sc 15 rounds (10 M)

Dont stuff the arms

Now you need to close the arm with 5 sc. Make a chain, press
the stitches of round 23 together and make 5 sc.

Yarn over and sew in the ends.

Make the second arm the same way.

6
TAIL
For Version 1 you don´t need to change color. The whole tail is made with your darker
colored yarn

For Version 2 you need to change color in round 13 start with your darker colored
yarn.

1. 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2. (inc) x 6 (12)

3. (3 sc, inc) x 3 (15)

4-11. 15 sc 8 rounds (15)

Stuff the tail with fiberfill. As you go you can decrease the amount of
fiberfill.

12. (3 sc, dec) x 3 (12)

For Version 2 change to lighter color.

13-28: 12 sc 16 rounds (12)

Now you need to close the tail with 6sc. Make a chain, press the stitches of round 28
together and make 6 sc.

Yarn over and sew in the ends.

7
BODY:
Make sure you finished the arms, legs and the tail before you start with the body.
Start with brown:

Make 15 chains and start in the second chain from the hook:

13 sc, 3 sc in the same stitch

now continue on the other side of the chains
12 sc, inc (30)

Now continue in spiral rounds.

1. inc, 12 sc, (inc) x 3, 12 sc, (inc) x 2 (36)

In round 2 we will crochet the legs onto the body.

To do that, you need to work in the stitches from round 1 and also in
the stitches from the legs.

2. 1 sc, 6 sc in leg1 and the body, 2sc,

6 sc in leg2 and the body, 21 sc (36)

3. (inc, 2 sc) x 6, 18 sc (42)

4. 42 sc (42)

In Round 5 we will crochet the tail onto the body.

8
To do that, you need to work in the stitches from round 4 and also in
the stitches from the tail.
Also make sure to place the tail in the middle ob the backside of your
cat (like shown on the photos). Maybe you need more or less stitches to
get there then me.

5. 31 sc, 6 sc in tail and body, 5 sc (42)

6.-13. 42 sc 8 rounds (42)

14. (19 sc, dec) x2 (40)

15. 40 sc (40)
16. (8 sc, dec) x 4 (36)
17-21. 36 sc 5 rounds (36)
22. (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)

In the next round we will crochet the arms onto the body.
Therefore you need to work in 5 stitches of round 22 and also in the 5
stitches on your arm.
Before you start the round use some stitchmarkers to mark the right
positions of the arms on your cat. Maybe you need to make 1 or 2 more
sc before you reach the perfect position for your left arm. In total you
need 5 stitches for each arm and there should be 10 stitches between the
arms. Have a look at the following pictures
9
10 sc

5 sc 5 sc

10 sc

23. 5 sc in arm1 and body, 10 sc, 5 sc in arm2 and body, 10 sc (30)

Stuff the body

24. (3 sc, dec) x6 (24)

25. (dec) x 12 (12)

Stuff the body again. Cut yarn, close round invisible and sew in the ends.

10
HEAD FOR VERSION 1:

For this version you need to work in closed rounds.

That means you start each round with a chain and close each round with a slip stitch
in the first stitch of the round.

There is a lot of color changes in this head. If there is a „light“ in front of some
abbreviations, that means you have to make the following stitches with the light
colored yarn. If you read „dark“ you have to change color to the darker yarn.

Start with your lighter color.

1. 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2. (inc) x 6 (12)
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
6. (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36)
11
7. (5 sc, inc) x 6 (42)
8. (6 sc, inc) x 6 (48)

9. 48 sc (48)

10. (7 sc, inc) x 6 (54)

11. 54 sc (54)

Now the color changes begin. Change color in the last step of the
previous stitch.

12. light 26 sc, dark1 sc, light 27 sc (54)

13. light 25 sc, dark 3 sc, light 26 sc (54)

14. light 24 sc, dark 5 sc, light 25 sc (54)

15. light 23 sc, dark7 sc, light 24 sc (54)

16. light 22 sc, dark 9 sc, light 23 sc (54)

17. light 21 sc, dark 11 sc, light 22 sc (54)

18. light 20 sc, dark 13 sc, light 21 sc (54)

19. light 19 sc, dark 15 sc, light 20 sc (54)

20. light 18 sc, dark 17 sc, light 19 sc (54)

21. light19 sc, dark16 sc, light 19 sc (54)

22. light 20 sc, dark14 sc, light 20 sc (54)

Now you only need your lighter color.

23. 54 sc (54)

24. (7 sc, dec) x 6 (48)

25. (2 sc, dec) x 12 (36)

If you use safety eyes you can place them between rouns 17 and 18
with distance of about 12 stitches to each other. They should be placed
at the edges of the triangle.

26. (1 sc, dec) x 12 (24)

27. (dec) x 12 (12)

12
Important: To avoid dents you need to stuff the head very firmly. Especially the last
few rounds because there were a lot of decreases. Make sure to stuff also the edges of the
head, so that your cat has proper cheeks and a round head.

Leave a long tail because you need it to sew the head on the body later.

Cut yarn and close round invisible. Continue on page 15.

HEAD VERSION 2

Work in spiral rounds

There is a lot of color changes in this head right from the beginning. If there is a
„light“ in front of some abbreviations, that means you have to make the following
stitches with the light colored yarn. If you read „dark“ you have to change color to the
darker yarn.

Start with your darker color.

1. 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2. dark (inc) x 3, light (inc) x 3 (12)

13
3. dark (1 sc, inc) x 3, light (1 sc, inc) x 3 (18)

4. dard (2 sc, inc) x 3, light (2 s, inc) x 3 (24)

5. dark (3 sc, inc) x 3, light (3 sc, inc) x 3 (30)

6. dark (4 sc, inc) x 3, light (4 sc, inc) x 3 (36)

7. dark (5 sc, inc) x 3, light (5 sc, inc) x 3 (42)

8. dark (6 sc, inc) x 3, light (6 sc, inc) x 3 (48)

9. dark 24 sc, light 24 sc (48)

10. dark (7 sc, inc) x 3, light (7 sc, inc) x 3 (54)

11. light 1 sc, dark 25 sc, light 28 sc (54)

12-13. light 2 sc, dark23 sc, light 29 sc 2 rounds (54)

14. light 3 sc,dark 22 sc, light 5 sc, dark 3 sc, light 21 sc (54)

15. light 5 sc, dark 18 sc, light 7 sc, dark 5 sc, light 19 sc (54)

16. light 7 sc, dark14 sc, light 8 sc, dark 7 sc, light18 sc (54)

17. light 9 sc, dark 10 sc, light 11 sc, dark 5 sc, light19 sc (54)

18. light 10 sc, dark 9 sc, light 11 sc, dark 5 sc, light 19 sc (54)

19. light 12 sc, dark 6 sc, light 12 sc, dark 5 sc, light 19 sc (54)

Now you only need your lighter color.

20-23. 54 sc 4 rounds (54)

24. (7 sc, dec) x 6 (48)

25. (2 sc, dec) x 12 (36)

If you use safety eyes you can place them between rounds 17 and 18
with distance of about 12 stitches to each other. The right eye should be
placed in the little dot on the right side of the head.

26. (1 sc, dec) x 12 (24)

27. (dec) x 12 (12)

14
Important: To avoid dents you need to stuff the head very firmly. Especially the last
few rounds because there were a lot of decreases. Make sure to stuff also the edges of the
head, so that your cat has proper cheeks and a round head.

Leave a long tail because you need it to sew the head on the body later.

Cut yarn and close round invisible.

NOSE AND FACE:

Afterwards you need your thin black embroidery yarn to sew a „Y“- nose on the head.
Start with the upper side, the „V“, between round 19 and 20 make it about 4 stitches
horizontal and 2-3 rounds vertical. The mouth is about 2 rounds vertical underneath
the „V“.

To make your eyes a little bit more alive you can sew a little black mark above each
eyes. Then switch to white embroidery yarn and sew some little „light spots“ on each
side of the eyes.

Afterwards you can put some Rouge on the cheeks an in the inside of the nose.

Of course you can also embroidery the whole face including the eyes. I just tell you
my suggestions and how I made it!

15
EARS
For Version 1 you need to dark colores ears.

For Version 2 you need one ear of each color.

1. 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)

3. (2 sc, inc) x 3 (12)

4. (3 sc, inc) x 3 (15)

5. 15 sc (15)

6. (4 sc, inc) x 3 (18)

Make a Chain and turn to close the ear with 9 sc

Cut yarn but leave a long tail to sew the ear on the head later.

Make a second ear the same way.

16
SEWING
Now you can sew the head on the body. Make sure to stuff both pieces again very
firmly. Use the long tail you left on the head.

Afterwards you can press your head a little bit down towards your body. So it will
look a little bit more natural.

Sew the ears on the head. I placed them between rounds 4 to 12 of the head and about 5
stitches behind the eyes.

You can put a little bit of rouge on the inside of your ears if you want.

17
DRESS

SKIRT
For the dress we begin with the skirt in the color of your choice.

Make 44 chains and make a slst in the first chain to get a ring.

Now you need to work in closed rounds.

That means you start each round with 2 chains and close each round with a slipstitch
in the first stitch of the round.

1. 44 dc (44)

2. (21 dc, 2 dc in the next stitch) x 2 (46)

3. (11 dc, 2 dc in the next stitch, 10 dc, 2 dc in the next stitch) x 2 (50)

4.-6. 50 dc 3 rounds (50)

Cut yarn and sew in the ends on the inside of the skirt.

18
FRONT:
For the Front you work in 11 stitches of the first Round from the skirt:

Work in rows

1. 11 sc, ch and turn (11)

2.-6. 11 sc, ch and turn 5 rows (11)

Don‘t cut your yarn, and continue with the Braces.

BRACES:
Continue to crochet directly after the bib.

Make 14 chains, turn your skirt around and insert your hook on the opposite side.
Make a slst there. Then make a chain, turn.

Make sure to crochet these chains and also the following stitches very
tight.

19
Make 14 sc back to the front, then make 11 slst in round until you reach the other
side of the front.

Make the second brace the same way.

For the wavy braces you need to yarn over in the 14 stitches and work 4 dc in each
of them.

Afterwards sew in all the ends.

RIBBON:
Make 56 chains and make a slst in the first chain to get a ring.

Lay the chains around the head of your cat, maybe you need more or
less chains for the ribbon.

1. 56 sc (56)

2. After that we work the bow, make a slst in the first stitch of round 1 then,

Make 6 chains and start in the second chain from the hook:

1 slst, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc

Make a slst in the stitch where you came from and make the second bow the
same way:

Make 6 chains and start in the second chain from the hook:

20
1 slst, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc

Close with a slst in the same stitch where you came from.

Cut yarn and sew in the end.

Cut a piece of the same colored yarn and circle it around the
middle of the bow, knot it together and sew in the end.

If you want you can sew the ribbon on the head of the cat so she
cant loose it.

FISH PURSE:
For the little fish purse we work the Body first and add the fins later.

BODY
Start with your lighter color.
21
1. 6 sc in magic ring (6)

2. 6 sc (6)

3. (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)

9. (5 sc, inc) x 3 (21)

10.-11. 18 sc 2 rounds (21)

12. (5 sc, dec) x 3 (18)

Change to your darker color

13. 18 sc (18)

14. in FLO:18 slst (18)

Don´t cut yarn, continue with the braces.

Make 42 chains and insert your hook on the opposite side of round 14. Make a slst,
yarn over and sew in the end.

You can also change the amount of chains if you want shorter braces.

FINS
Make all the fins with your darker colored yarn.

Tail fin:

Insert your hook between two stitches on the tail of your fis purse then continue with:

Make 6 chains and start in the second chain from the hook:

1 slst, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc

Afterwards don´t cut yarn and make a second fin right next to your first one.

After the second one make a slst, cut yarn and sew in the ends.

(Pictures on the next page)

22
Little fins:

We need to make 2 little fins. One in the middle of your bag and the other on one side
of your bag which will be the belly of the fish. They are both made the same way:

Insert your hook between two stitches and

Make 4 chains and start in the second chain from the hook:

1 slst, 1 sc, 1 slst

After that make a slst between the two stitches where you came from, cut yarn and
sew in the ends.

Big dorsal fin on the Top:

For the dorsal Fin

Make 9 chains and start in the second chain from the hook:

(crochet 2 hdc in the same st, 1 slst) x 4

Leave a long tail, cut yarn and sew the tail on the purse.
23
In the end you can embroider a little black eye to the purse.

24
Congratulations, you made it! Now you have made your own
Cleo!
