SINGULAR AND PLURAL NOUNS.


A singular noun refers to only one person, place or thing.
Eg. Chair, school, doctor.
A plural noun refers to more than one person, place or thing.
Eg. Chairs, schools, doctors.
Converting singular nouns into plural nouns.
Most plural nouns can simply be formed by adding –s or-es to the main word.
Eg. Window-windows Box- boxes Wish- wishes Lamp-lamps
When words end with the letter –y then change the –y into es and add to make the word plural.
Eg. Baby – babies Sky- skies. Berry- berries
Some nouns stay the same in singular as well as plural.
Eg. Deer- deer Sheep – sheep Fish- fish Gold- gold Flour- flour
Sugar- sugar Silver- silver
ACTIVITY.
