NOTES:
1 This WPS is applicable for butt, branch and fillet welds.
2 Preheat to 50º C if required for moisture removal or when metal temperature is <15°C.
3 Welding shall not be performed when the weather or degree of protection does not provide satisfactory welding.
4 When interruption of welding is unavoidable the weld shall be wrapped in dry thermal insulating blanket for slow cooling. Minimum 3 passes
or 1/3rd of the joint thickness whichever is higher shall be deposited before any interruption.
5 Welding consumables shall be handled as per approved consumable handling procedure & certificate shall be EN 10204 Type 3.1
and shall include both chemical and mechanical test results.
6 Arc strikes shall be ground smooth & MT/PT & thickness checked.
7 When applicable preheating shall be done for a minimum distance of 75 mm on both sides of the joint.
8 Welding gas shall comply AWS A5.32/ BS EN ISO 14175 requirements.
9 GTAW welding machines shall have HF arc start capability.
