ACLs and VPNs

VPN is a Shortland of Virtual Private Network. It protects network connection by hiding the IP of the
user and adding an encryption layer to the data, which can let the user surf the internet anonymously.
A VPN will make it difficult for others to track you (Eddy, 2022, para. 6) By concealing your real IP
address, blocking access to the location and user browser history, VPNs can also make it more secure
to share information when using public Wi-Fi networks.

Mobile smartphones are like computers, so VPN protects mobile devices the same way through data
encryption. It protects the mobile user from apps and search engines that monitor personal data. VPN
is powerful on cell phones as it makes it difficult to hack user information and safeguards individual
information to stay away from break-ins.

The difference between an access control list (ACL) that is used in routers to block traffic and
firewalls. In addition to the similarities they share.

Access Control List abbreviated as ACL. Although there are some similarities between ACL and
firewalls, ACL and firewalls differ when it comes to the approaches related to security. ACL does
stateless inspection. By stateless examination, I imply that the entrance list checks out a packet and
has no clue about what has preceded it (Bhardwaj, n.d). A firewall generally does stateful
investigation (Bhardwaj, n.d) By stateful inspection I imply that the firewall does not just see the TCP
packets with the ACK bit set. Another difference is that ACL could have several users, while a
firewall is known for its function to protect the system.

Both ACL and Firewall perform security processes. Also, they are similar in that they observe traffic.
They include predefined proclamations that are instrumental in looking at the approaching and active
information.
