MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
This Memorandum of Agreement made and entered this ___ day of March 2023 at
Teresa, Rizal into by and between
The MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF TERESA, RIZAL, a local
government unit, organized and existing under Republic Act
No. 7160, with seat of government at the Municipal Hall,
Corazon C. Aquino Avenue, Barangay Poblacion, Teresa,
Rizal, hereinafter represented in this act by its Municipal Mayor,
HON. RODEL N. DELA CRUZ, as authorized in Sangguniang
Bayan Resolution No. ______, Series of 2023, hereinafter
referred to as the “FIRST PARTY”,
and
The MARDEN’S TRADING & SERVICES, a private business
with principal address at 202 Roman Roxas Road, Barangay
May-iba, Teresa, Rizal, hereinafter represented by its owner,
MA. VICTORIA P. LEIS, hereinafter referred to as the
”SECOND PARTY”.
WITNESSETH
WHEREAS, The FIRST PARTY is mandated under Republic Act 10121 or the
Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, to develop,
strengthen and operationalize mechanisms for partnership or networking with the
private sector;
WHEREAS, said act states that Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Offices (LDRRMOs) may mobilize instrumentalities and entities in the protection and
preservation of life and properties during calamities and/or emergencies in accordance
with existing policies and procedure;
WHEREAS, LDRRMOs shall respond to and manage the adverse effects of
emergencies and carry out recovery activities in affected areas within their jurisdiction
ensuring that there is an efficient mechanism for immediate delivery of food, shelter,
and medical supplies specially for older people, women, children and persons with
disability;
WHEREAS, the private sector including but not limited to private corporations,
businesses, households, and non-profit organization being stakeholders and drivers of
the community’s economy shall be tapped and/or mobilized in time of calamities and/or
emergencies;
WHEREAS, in undertaking pre-disaster actions and measures within the context of
disaster risk reduction management it is best to have an agreement of with relevant
entities to ensure availability and continuity of basic goods and services respectively;
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing premises, the Parties
hereby agree as follows:
1. The FIRST PARTY and the SECOND PARTY hereby agrees to cooperate and
coordinate in accordance with REPUBLIC ACT 10121 or the Philippine Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 during emergencies for the
protection and preservation of life and properties;
2. That the FIRST PARTY will pay for the amount of goods and/or services supplied
by the SECOND PARTY, utilizing LDRRMO funds allocated for the purpose.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties, together with their instrumental witnesses, hereto
have affixed their respective signatures this ______ day of __________ 2023 in
