artwork?
Artwork 1: Brainstorming (ela and 3d art Activity)
Original Art activity
For the ELA portion of this activity, the students will jot
down ideas (words or pictures) about the similarities and
differences between the Roman jewelry & engraved gems versus
today’s jewelry. Then, as a class we will come together and
come up with the similarities and differences we came up
with.
The class will then do an art project called “Make Your Own
Jewelry, using a variety of items (beads, pasta, string,
etc). The teacher will have his or her own example to help
give students ideas. Student’s can share their work after.

Habits of Mind and Description
Habits of Mind:
1)Stretch and Explore
2)Observe
Description:
This project helps develop students writing skills, as well as their
critical thinking skills. Within this project, it allows room for
creativity and endless possibilities. The participation will be assessed
by how well they understand similarities and differences, as well as if
they worked hard to create their own piece of jewelry.

Brief Description of use in classroom
I would use this artwork for a Kindergarten or 1st grade
math lesson. Students will count whole dots and half dots
and add them up together. For the art component, students
will create their own house out of their own shapes and use
any media appropriate for the grade level.
This project will assess their math understanding and will
show their creativity.
Artwork 4: laborers harvesting bath stone
Attributed to Benjamin Barker
This artwork is considered
picturesque, which comes from
the late 18 century in
England.
-Born in 1776
-Landscape painter
Brief description of use in classroom
The more I reflected on this piece of artwork, I realized I
do not want to use this piece of work in my classroom. I
believe this piece of artwork is used to captivate older
students, and it would be hard to find an activity both art
and social studies that students would be engaged in. I
think it would be better used in a middle school or high
school classroom.
Overall Brief Reflection
My thoughts on this project are all positive. I believe that
I put a lot of effort into this project to help my students
achieve standards and goals. I hope this lesson I put
together will become a way my students can see learning can
be fun. As for me, in the future, I believe this will help
spark more creativity and ideas I can implement into my
classroom.
