Parent Newsletter - Emily Ratliff

Ms. Ratliff's 2nd grade science class will be learning about weather changes and patterns over the next week. Students will learn how weather affects the environment and living things. They will study different types of weather like wind, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, fire, and snow. Students will learn through inquiry-based activities that engage them in exploring, explaining and evaluating what they learn. The lesson integrates across subjects like health, science, art and technology. Parents are provided activities to do at home to further practice weather skills.

EVALUATE
Students will evaluate what they learned and reflect on their
knowledge by telling the teacher or completing a project.
INTERGRATING ACROSS
THE CURRICULUM
Heading into this lesson there are no safety precatutions

weather patterns. Students will be able to create art of different
weather conditions in their own way.
Parents/ Guardians Corner
Welcome parents/ guardians. In this newsletter I have provided
information for you and your child to practice their science skills at home.
Having students in the classroom is important, but learning different
skills at home are important as well. Below I have some activities that you
and your child can do at home to learn more about weather changes .
