SK ILOILO CITY
LITERARY-MUSICAL CONTEST 2022
QUALIFICATIONS AND GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. All categories are open to all elected and appointed SK Officials of Iloilo City only.
2. A participant may join a maximum of two (2) categories only.
3. Upon registration, oath of office must be passed to the SK Lit-Mus committee.
4. All recorded music to be used in any contest must be in “MP3” format and must be
submitted on or before AUGUST 10, 2022, at the SK Federation Office of Iloilo City.
A back-up copy should be available.
5. Each district must submit/email to the SK Federation Office of Iloilo City the list of
participants in each contest on or before AUGUST 10, 2022.
6. All literary contest pieces, except for Extemporaneous Speaking/ Dagliang
Talumpati, and MP3 format music for the musical contests must be submitted on or
before AUGUST 10, 2022 at the SK Federation Office of Iloilo City. After which, there
will be no submission or exchange of contest pieces and CDs. Failure to submit
these on the said schedule will automatically mean the district non-participation. Five
copies of piece are required for submission with following format:
-Type Written (MS Word font: Times New Roman)
- Paper size: 8.5’’ x 13’’ (long sized bond paper)
- Font size: 12pts
- 1.5 spacing
- page margins of 1 inch in all sides
- Title in bold, all capitalized and on the upper center page
CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES:
1. The timer starts as the music starts or on the first sound uttered by the contestant in
all contests.
2. Three (3) minutes preparation time is given for group category- Hip-hop.
3. For contests with maximum time limit, one (1) point will be deducted to the total
score for every thirty (30) seconds exceedance. In the same manner, one (1) point
will be deducted to the total score of the contestant/s for not reaching the minimum
time limit (except for Extemporaneous Speaking/ Dagliang Talumpati).
4. Only smoke from use of dry ice, incense, or smoke machine effects is allowed. The
use of fire in any contest is prohibited. Other special effects that are not specified
must be presented first to the SK Lit-Mus Committee for approval. One (1) point will
be deducted from the total score per judge for whoever violating the mentioned rule.
5. Appropriate attire is specified in the specific rules and guidelines of each contest.
However, in all contests, ethical and moral standards will always be applied. (e.g. NO
see-through shirt and other revealing clothes).
6. Trainers are allowed for all events.
7. Each group must provide a maximum of ten (10) props men in black t-shirt to clear
the stage after the performance. One point will be deducted from the total score if
caught violating this rule.
8. An official representative from each district must be present for the drawing of lots to
determine the order of presentation for all competitions. The schedule of draw lots is
on August 08, 2022.
9. Contestants must be present at their designated venues 15 minutes before their
contest starts. Contestants who violate this rule will have one (1) point deduction
from their final score.
10. Contestants who missed their turn shall be automatically disqualified. However, they
may or may not perform after all the contestants finished their performance.
11. There will be three (3) judges in every contest whose decision is final and
irrevocable. Three (3) official tabulators and three (3) official timers are designated.
12. All are forbidden to make final decisions without prior consultation to judges when
discrepancies in judging are found.
DAGLIANG TALUMPATI
1. Ang paksa ng talumpati ay ibibigay ng Lupon ng Inampalan sa araw ng paligsahan.
2. Bawat distrito ay kailangan magbigay ng kanilang tanong/ paksa ng talumpati na
nakalagay o nakadikit sa maliit na folder.
3. Bawal kunin ng kalahok ang tanong na kanilang isinumiti.
4. Tiyakin na wala itong kaugnayan sa tema ng pagdiriwang.
5. Ang kalahok ay bibigyan ng Limang Minutong paghahanda at Limang Minutong
paglalahad. Isang puntos ang ibabawas sa per judge sa bawat 30 segundong sobra
sa paglalahad.
6. Ang paglalahad ay maaring paraan ng pakikipag-usap o patalumpati o maaring
pinagsama.
7. Pinal at hindi mababago ang hatol ng Lupon ng Inampalan.

1. Ang pinikas ukon piyesa kinahanglan nga sa pulong nga Hiligaynon.
2. Ang pag-paalinton indi magkabos sa lima ka minutos kag indi magsobra sa pito ka
minutos.
3. Ginadumilian ang pagamit sang sound effects, background ukon props.
4. Ang naga pasakup sa paindis-indis dapat magasuksok sang naga kaangay nga
panapton.
5. Wala sang parte sang lawas ang magatandog sa entablado liwan sa tiil.

VOCAL DUET (POP)
1. The pair is free to choose a pop song that best suits their voice range and style.
2. the song can be in Filipino or English.
3. Only the use of accompaniment such as minus one and audio CD recorded
instruments is allowed.
4. CDs must be tried out prior to the contest and a back-up copy should be avaialable.
5. Contestants may be both male or female or a combination of a male or female.
6. Delivery must not be less than three minutes nor more than five minutes.

HIP HOP COMPETITION
1. Each group must have a minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 15 members
that may be all males or all females or combination of both.
2. The routine must be performed, in it's entirely to the music selected, prepared and
submitted by the group.
3. The performance should have a minimum of five minutes and a maximum of seven
minutes. The routine must not exceed with the said time as it will result to a
one-point deduction.
4. There is no maximum or minimum number of songs or recordings that may be used
in the routine as long as it won’t exceed the given time. The songs maybe edited to
enhance choreography and personal performance.
5. Sound effects and original compositions are permitted. Crews are highly cautioned
and advised against the music becoming too complex with too many edits, sound
effects or songs preventing them from exhibiting a clean and continuous dance
performance.
6. Groups can use props or costumes as long as it relates to their performance.
7. Attire may include accessories such as hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelry, etc.
Removing pieces of clothing during the performance is permitted provided it is not
offensive or out of character. Appropriate clothing should be observed in the
competition.
8. Using of deadly weapons and broken mirrors is strictly prohibited.
9. Final list of participants must be submitted on the scheduled date.
10. Deduction will apply as indicated in the general rules and guidelines.
11. Music must be submitted on the scheduled date.
12. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
