I. Objectives:

At the end of the 60-minute discussion, the students are expected to:
A. define the different types of communication skills.
B. effectively apply those kinds of communicating skills.
C. articulate their insights about communicative styles.

III. Procedure
a. Preparatory Activity

•Greetings

The teacher will greet the class and will ask one student to lead the prayer.

•Classroom management

The teacher will request everyone to pick up the trash/es in


the surrounding of the classroom and will also ask the Secretary of
the class if there is any absentee/s. After the class secretary
answered, The teacher will give permission to students to seat
down.

a. Motivation
•The teacher will start the new discussion of a lesson by his/her prepared activity to
be able for the students to adapt to the new lesson. The activity/quick game is
called "CHARADES OF STARS" the mechanics of the game will be– Students
will be divided into 2 groups and afterwards they will pick 1 representative from
their group to act out the action/s given to them. The group with most scores within
15 minutes will win and will receive a plus 2 points to quiz to be conducted after
the discussion.

b. Lesson proper
•The teacher will begin the new lesson titled “Employing appropriate
communicative styles” . This lesson classifies these five types of communicative
styles as formal, consultative, casual, intimate, and frozen.
the lesson will circulate by the importance, relevance, examples and application of
the said types of communication styles. In addition, during the lesson, students will
actively participate because this topic aims to be fun and also will leave
unforgettable informations.

c. Application
•The teacher will afterwards give an activity as an application of the knowledge
they would get from the discussion. The activity will be a collaborative activity in
which they can further enhance their creativity to the topic that is discussed. The
class will be divided into five groups to present the five types of communicative
styles. Also, rubrics will be given before the collaborative activity.

d. Generalization
• The teacher will call some students to summarize the lesson and
will ask the importance of the lesson.

IV. Evaluation
•form of evaluating the discussion is when the teacher will be able to know if the students
are learning from the discussion they had earlier.
•Quiz time; Answer the following questions.
1. It is the exchanging of official information and it is mostly done
in written form.
2. It utilizes open-ended questions to get all opinions, to uncover
hidden issues, and reveal personal agendas.
3. It is the most formal level of speaking style.
4. It is usually done by individuals who have very close relationship
towards each other.
5. It is a style of speaking that is friendly, informal, and easy going.
6-10. Give the five communicative styles from the discussion (any order)

V. Assignment
•The teacher will assign a take home activity and will ask to pass it the next day of their meeting.
•Assignment; Draw/Print each type of examples of 5 types of Communicative Styles and support
the pictures by providing 2-3 sentences each.
