1. What is the fashion?

Every moment of one day we can hear: “It is modern! It isn’t fashionable! You must
have for this season winter – spring…” If you aren’t modern, you won’t have friends. Old
clothes go to garbage. To be fashionable is very important today what is fashon?.

Fashion is a
popular style or practice,
especially
in clothing, footwear, ac
cessories, makeup,
hairstyle and body.
Fashion is a distinctive
and often constant trend
in the style in which a
person dresses. It is the
prevailing styles in
behaviour and the
newest creations of textile designers. Because the more technical term costume is regularly
linked to the term "fashion", the use of the former has been relegated to special senses
like fancy dress or masquerade wear, while "fashion" generally means clothing, including the
study of it. Although aspects of fashion can be feminine or masculine, some trends
are androgynous.1

Fashion trends are influenced by several factors including political, economical, social
and technological. On very important events we can see famous people from all segments of
life wearing unusual clothes and jewelry. This is usually the product of some famous
designers and their prices are too high for the standard of living of ordinary people.2

Be modern characters to be acceptable in one society. Old-fashioned people are

usually not acceptable today.

The media plays a significant role when it comes to fashion. For instance, an
important part of fashion is fashion journalism. Editorial critique, guidelines, and
commentary can be found on television and in magazines, newspapers, fashion
websites,Social network, and fashion blogs. In recent years, fashion blogging and YouTube
videos have become a major outlet for spreading trends and fashion tips, creating an online
culture of sharing one’s style on a website or Instagram account. Through these media outlets
readers and viewers all over the world can learn about fashion, making it very accessible.

At the beginning of the 20th century, fashion magazines began to include photographs
of various fashion designs and became even more influential than in the past. In cities
throughout the world these magazines were greatly sought after and had a profound effect on
public taste in clothing.

However, over the past several years, fashion websites have developed that merge
traditional editorial writing with user-generated content. Online magazines like iFashion
Network and Runway Magazine, led by Nole Marin from America’s Next Top Model, have
begun to dominate the market with digital copies for computers, iPhones, and iPads. Example
platforms include Apple and Android for such applications.

The fashion industry has been the subject of numerous films and television shows,
including the reality show Project Runway and the drama series Ugly Betty. Specific fashion
brands have been featured in film, not only as product placement opportunities, but as
bespoke items that have subsequently led to trends in fashion.3

Videos in general have been very useful in promoting the fashion industry. This is
evident not only from television shows directly spotlighting the fashion industry, but also
movies, events and music videos which showcase fashion statements as well as promote
specific brands through product placements.

3. Fashion from past to nowadays

Fashion has changed over the centuries. In ancient times, fashion was for rich people,
because they could travel to buy expensive and beautiful fabrics that were brought from all
parts of the world. The clothes were worn by ladies in the castles differed from those were
worn by poor women. The rich lady wore silk dresses with expensive lace, jeweled on it. The
poor woman wore dresses of rough linen or dresses she had received from another woman.
Male fashion also differed. Rich muskets wore a fur, a hat like a cylinder, always cleansing
the shoes, a white wig on the ribbon, a scarf on the shirt. The poor were in the old and worn
out clothes, sometimes torn.

Clothes were made from different materials for different occasions. Today it’s the
same. Once upon a time it was important for the clothes to be clean. Fashion was not an
imperative.

Sometimes women did not wear pants. It was even strictly forbidden for a woman to
wear pants. Models of garment parts changed over time. The skirts were falter, so they were
narrow, short and long. Dresses also. Shirts were made of denim, so with lace, they were

ordinary. It's the same with footwear. The high and low boots were worn ... however,
whatever the skirt remains a skirt, and dress remains a dress. Fashion dictates cuts and
materials!

What is modern today? What is fashion today? it is difficult to answer this question.
Fashion is everything that is different from the others. Modern is what is globalized and seen
on everyone. Modern is what is expensive. Fashion is changing rapidly. Especially it is
globalized. What is today'smodern tomorrow is already demoded and funny to wear. There
are no rules in fashion.

4. Why do fashions change over time?

Do you pick out the clothes you wear to school each day? When you're deciding what
to wear, what do you think about? What things are important to you?

If you look in your closet, you realize that you have a certain number of clothes to
choose from. But how did those clothes get there? Did you help pick them out? Why did you
or your parents choose the clothes you have?

Who decided that blue jeans and t-shirts are “cool" for kids to wear today? Who
designs the clothes you see for sale in stores? All of these questions revolve around the world
of fashion. Fashion refers to the styles of dress that are currently popular. Fashion goes
beyond just clothes, though. It can extend to shoes, jewelry and even how you style your hair.
For many people, fashion is a high priority. It's important to some people to wear only the
latest fashions and styles. For others, though, keeping up with the trends isn't that important.
And keeping up is certainly something you have to do if fashion is important to you. The one
thing that stays the same with fashion is this: it always changes! Don't believe us? Spend
some time on the Internet looking at fashion over the ages. In the 1960s and 1970s, hippies
made bell-bottomed blue jeans popular. In the 1980s, Michael Jackson made parachute pants
all the rage. Now try to find these items in today's clothing stores!

Why do fashions change? The answer is probably as simple as the fact that people
change. Over time, the new replaces the old. People are influenced greatly by popular culture,
including athletes, musicians, movie stars, politicians, royalty, as well as popular films,
television shows, books and music. We also are influenced by the fashion industry's
advertising. The stars of popular culture don't remain stars by doing the same things over and
over again. Instead, they're always searching for a new angle to maintain their popularity.
Often these new angles come in the form of new clothing or hairstyles. When people see
these new styles, they often want to imitate their favorite stars. To do so, they seek out the
latest fashions — clothes, shoes, jewelry and the like — to make themselves look like the
people they want to imitate. In this way, fashions evolve and constantly change over time.

6
And it's been happening for hundreds of years! Ever since clothes were invented,
they've been used as a way to express something about yourself. As far back as the 1700s, the
French were known to spend hours looking through fashion magazines to learn about the
latest styles.

For years, clothes have been used to separate people into groups. Even today, brand-
name clothing that is more expensive than other types of clothing can be used by some people
to distinguish themselves from others. Unfortunately, this can often have the effect of
distancing certain groups from others. Don't forget that it's always OK to develop your own
sense of style that is unique and separate from what the fashion world dictates! Stay true to
yourself and let your personality — not your clothes — speak for who you are!

Conclusion

7
It is amazing to see how the different events in history have influenced and changed
the way people have dressed throughout time. Some of the most popular fashions are classic,
they can stand the test of time and hardly ever "go out of style", only experiencing minor
changes to keep up with the trends. Other clothing items could be considered "fads", styles
that are only popular for a short season and then never worn again.5

Often certain fashion trends are dependent on the tastes of particular groups of people
or cliques and are usually associated with social status or cultural preferences like the type of
music a person likes.

Fashion can also be influenced by world events such as war or the economy. For
example, during World War II, people were only allowed a certain amount of fabric so they
were forced to create simple outfits that were practical enough for wartime duties. From the
1920s to the 1990s, popular fashions reflected the mood of each decade and showcased
changes in society as the styles of clothing and accessories evolved with the times, and it will
always be.
