ZDF-T-6A HAU450V2RTF1 Prog v2

The document provides instructions for programming the ZD Fly T-6A transmitter version 2 for use with a helicopter. It describes connecting the transmitter to a computer via USB, loading configuration software, selecting settings for different channels including aileron, elevator, motor, and gyro rate, and adjusting pitch and throttle curves for normal and idle up flight modes. It also provides tips for setting up 3D flight capabilities, including adjusting the throttle curve for idle up and fine-tuning servo arm positioning.

Programming the ZD Fly T-6A Transmitter v2

Safety First

Mark matching dots on the motor wires first so you know the reconnection order. Now
disconnect two of the three power leads to the motor before making any changes. Do not make
changes to the transmitter with the heli receiver turned off - you need to see what you are doing.

• Load the disc into your CD drive. Click on T6Config (Transmitter Configuration).
• For normal installation click “Next” four times.
• Click “Finish”.
• Click on the right symbol. You should now have the T6 transmitter icon your desktop.
• Clicking on the icon will bring up the main menu.
• Plug the USB connector into your computer and the DIN plug into the back of the transmitter.
Make sure the orientation of the pins is correct.
• Transmitter must be on when making program changes.
• In the Menu click on “Get User” to set up interface.
• Move the sticks. If the menu doesn’t change, go to COM 1 and then go to COM 2 or COM 3.
• When the interface is complete, the menu should mimic stick movements.

Channel 1 Aileron Channel 2 Elevator

Channel 3 Brushless Motor Channel 4 Rudder
Channel 5 Gyro rate Channel 6 Aileron

Click on “Pitch Curve” and “Throttle Curve”

You have two flight modes, normal and “Idle Up”. Pitch curve in “Normal” and “ID” should be a
diagonal line starting at O and linear line to a 100. You can fine tune your preference. Normal
throttle curve is also a straight line from 0 to 100.

3D Set-up

You will need a pitch gauge to set-up for 3D. 3D flight requires that the servo arms be
perpendicular to swash linkages at 0 pitch (mid stick), and that they be an equal amount of
positive and negative pitch. Fine adjustments can be made through the sub trim, or remove and
remount the servo arms if the swash is too high or too low. There are excellent videos at
www.helifreak.com (look for Finless Bob videos)

In “ID” adjust throttle curve to be a V with values of 100, 80, 60, 80, 100. You can adjust to suit.
A higher head speed will make the heli more sensitive in all aspects. 60 is low for idle up hover
speed, so once you are more comfortable, increase to 70 – 75. Adjust to suit your flying.
