Course Description
Islam is the complete code of life which declares ethical behavior as a mandatory part in all walks of
life. However, it does not leave ethical judgment to personal likes or dislikes; rather it is determined by
the principles laid down by the basic sources of Islam; the Quran and the Sunnah. These true sources
give the comprehensive code of moral behavior for individual and for collective conduct of the society
as well. The ethical principles suggested by the Islamic value framework including fair dealing,
transparency, trustworthiness, professional integrity and betterment of life are all universally
recognized applicable values. These values are not particular to race, color or specific region and not
for the specific period of time. The purpose of these values is to help human beings to develop a
balanced vision of life as well as in any profession or field of work. In this regard, learners can seek
proper guidance through Islamic value framework in all situations, where an ethical judgment is to be
made by them. The first part of this course introduces and gives to students strong and practical
dimensions about fundamental beliefs and basic principles of Islam. The final part of this course deals
will some most contemporary issues, including Islamic civilization and different aspects of the modern
world like Islam and democracy, nationalism, capitalism reformist and radical Islam. Students will also
