INTER-SCHOOL ENGLISH ELOCUTION

STRENGTH OF INDIA LIES IN ITS PEOPLE

Virtual greetings to everyone.

India is at war. It’s at loggerheads with the deadly

coronavirus. But for me, it’s a golden opportunity
to expand my horizons. So, I’m making the most
of this time by reading books and watching some
really good content on television.

The other day, I saw the movie ‘Super 30’. It is a

real- life story based on the genius Indian
mathematics educator, Mr. Anand Kumar. Mr.
Kumar could not go to Cambridge to pursue his
higher studies because of personal financial
constraints. So, he had to compromise with his
dream. However, a hardcore optimist that he is,
he overcame his personal disappointment and
now helps other underprivileged children realise
their dreams. Every year, as a part of his ‘Super-
30’ programme, he coaches 30 poor but deserving
children to get through IITs. He gives them an
opportunity to break themselves from the
shackles of poverty. He gives them wings to fly!

This value system that motivates one commoner

to work for the upliftment of fellow commoners is
“The Strength of India”.
SALUTATIONS TO YOU SIR!!

The goose-bumps on my hands had barely settled

when I chanced upon another amazing
documentary on television. It was on Mr. Sonam
Wangchuk-engineer, innovator and education
reformist, all merged into one dynamic and awe-
inspiring personality. Do you know, Mr. Wangchuk
is a scientist in the real sense of the word? He has
around 400 patents to his name. Most
importantly, these patents are not directed
towards adding to his bank balance but for the
greater good. They help ease the lives of the
common man in the difficult mountainous terrains
of Ladakh. His Ice-Stupa is a marvellous scientific
innovation which solves the water problem of the
local farmers.

This moral value of giving back to society for the

greater good is “The Strength of India”
HATS OFF TO YOU SIR!!!

My country is truly blessed with benevolent

stalwarts. So, while I’m at it, how can I miss
mentioning the epitome of humility, Mrs. Sudha
Murty. An engineer herself, she has found her
true calling as a writer and social worker. She has
dedicated her life to work for the needy. She
empowers them through education, poverty
alleviation, healthcare etc. This passionate fight to
over-come socio-economic barriers is possible
because of the spirit of service.

It is this spirit of service which is “The Strength of

India”
YOU MA’AM ARE A BEACON OF HOPE FOR OUR
SOCIETY!!!

Friends, the above three examples are a mere

speck in the universe. Our country am sure is
replete with many many more such exemplary
souls. Consider the soldier guarding our borders,
always ready to make the supreme sacrifice for
fellow countrymen. The current covid times have
brought forth a new set of warriors- the doctors,
the sanitation workers and the policemen. Each of
them carry out their duties impartially at the risk
of endangering themselves. They do it for their
brethren.

AAP SAB KE ISS JAZBEE KO SHAT SHAT

PRANAAM!!!

So friends, one thing that I have learnt during

these trying times is that the spirit of service to
mankind is the true strength that any nation and
its people can have.
Thank you.
