1. INTRODUCTION
This procedure has been produced to provide Site Engineers work team with the
necessary guidelines and conditions to ensure that the work covered is carried out in a
controlled and professional manner.
2. REFERENCES
As per specifications and instructions.
3. SCOPE OF WORK
This procedure describes the safe working method for Exhaust Fans for Stadium, Hotel
and Training Fields within the Al Ramadi Stadium Project. This work will be carried out
by competent workmen under suspension in Safe Manner.
4. LOCATION
Location of the exhaust fans will be in Stadium, Hotel and Training Fields.

6. RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1 Construction Manager
Construction manager is generally responsible for all of site works to fulfil
correspondence with contract requirements.
6.2 QA/QC Engineer
Responsible to do inspection and tests according to quality control plan in
compliance with the technical requirements.

Site engineer is responsible to carry out works according to design drawings and
technical specifications. Also responsible to do required checking prior to start
work.
6.4 Safety Engineer
Responsible to check and put in order works before and during execution
according to requirement of Gurtas Procedure.
6.5 Foreman
Responsible to arrange tools and workers for works, doing works according to
work instructions and safe method of work.

8. MATERIAL APPROVALS
All the material approvals shall be documented via “material approval form” in three
copies including the commercial title of the manufacturer, highlighted catalogs of the
related submitted product, drawings, technical specifications, national/international
standards & codes that are met for the product itself, QA/QC documentation of the
manufacturer etc. in the attachments.
9. MATERIAL PURCHASE ORDER, SHIPMENT, STORAGE AND
PROTECTION
All the materials procured shall be shipped & stored as per the manufacturer’s
recommendations, preventing any kind of damage. For this purpose an appropriate
storage area shall be designated including protective measures.
10. SHOP DRAWINGS & SUPERPOSE DRAWINGS
Before the installation, all the drawing provided by the Employer shall be examined and
shop drawings shall be prepared accordingly. Submission of the shop drawings shall be
made in three copies for the Consultant’s review & approval. Any drawing without the
Consultant’s approval is not valid and any installation is prohibited. Following the
completion of the shop drawings, all the disciplines (Architectural, Construction and
Electrical) drawings shall be superposed, eliminating any kind of overlaps.

11. EQUIPMENT INSTALLATIONS
All the equipment installations shall be made as per the shop drawings, technical
specifications, manufacturer’s technical manuals, local & international standards and
codes. Concrete slab etc. shall be provided by the construction team. Related
calculations and drawings shall be provided to the construction team 1 week before the
manufacturing of the concrete slabs.
SHIPMENT AND TRANSPORTATION
Sufficient means of transportation shall be used for the shipment of the
equipments. Dimensions of the truck boxes shall be checked before shipment.
Equipments shall be secured by fastening with ropes. Steel rope shall not be
used for securing the equipments. For large equipments, equipment base shall
be fastened to the truck box.
Wooden, wedges, cardboard etc. shall be placed between the ropes and
equipment to prevent any scratches.
Equipments outer edges shall be secured by placing plywood, polystyrene etc.
before shipment.
Equipments shall not be stacked on top of each other.
Protections shall be taken to avoid weather damage to the equipments.
Equipments shall be lifted appropriately.
The equipment shall not be leaned on its side while lifting or transporting.
When unloading distribution of the load shall be even on the forks of the forklift.
Steel rope shall not be used for lifting purposes.
All the current safety procedures shall be applied during loading & unloading.
STORAGE
Equipments shall be stored in an appropriate storage area until the installation
with the protective packaging on the product itself.
The equipments shall be protected from moisture, dirt and weather conditions
whenever they are transferred to the installation job area.
Equipments shall not be stacked on top of each other. Precautions shall be taken
to prevent damage from construction materials (profiles, rods etc.)
The equipments shall be placed on wooden pallets, wedges etc. in the storage
area.
ASSEMBLY
The shaft or the roof construction shall be capable of carrying the weight of the
equipment.
Fans shall be isolated from excess vibration.
Electrical Connections shall be waterproof.

12. QUALITY CONTROL
All the installations will be recorded with the employer’s representative by filling the
quality control report. Preservation of the installations from any kind of damage is under
the contractor’s responsibility until the completion of work.
13. AS-BUILT DRAWINGS
Following the completion of the installations, as-built drawings will be prepared. As-
built drawings shall be submitted in three copies for the consultant’s approval.
14. HEALTH & SAFETY
All the site personnel will be trained for health and safety requirements before
starting to work.
Proper lighting will be provided for working areas.
Personal protection equipments (helmet, proper work wear, safety shoes,
goggles, mask, gloves etc.) will be provided and used by all site personnel
Easy access to the workplace will be provided.
Proper lighting will be provided for working areas for nightshifts. Work permit will
be granted from the site chief.
MSDS forms for the chemical substances shall be easily accessible.
Special care will be taken when working with chemicals to prevent contact with
skin and eyes.
