EMPLOYMENT NOTICE
Dated: 5th July 2024

Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) is a statutory

body constituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu in accordance with the
provisions of Electricity Act, 2003 and is located at Chennai. It is vested
with powers to determine the electricity tariff, regulate electricity purchase
and procurement process, issuing licences, facilitate intra-state transmission
and wheeling, promote cogeneration, specify State Grid Code, specify or
enforce standards of performance and adjudicate upon disputes. The
Commission shall be guided by the National Electricity Policy, National
Electricity Plan and Tariff Policy published under section 3(2) of the
Electricity Act, 2003.

The Commission desires to fill up one post of Office Assistant cum

Driver and four posts of Office Assistants on a regular basis. The
qualification, experience, age and scale of pay are given below;
Post : Office Assistant cum Driver
Number of Post : One

Qualification 1) Should have passed 8th Standard from a recognized

school with Tamil as One Language as per Tamil
Nadu Basic Service Rules,2007 dated:31.05.2007
2) License for driving Light Motor Vehicles (LMV)
3) Should have good physique and know cycling.
Scale of Pay In the pay level 1 Rs.15,700-50000 in the Tamil Nadu Pay
Matrix,2017 issued in G.O.Ms.No.303, Finance (Pay Cell)
Department dated:11-10-2017 and other allowances.
The Candidates must not have completed 30 years of age
Age
on the date of appointment.
 Note:

(1) Preference will be given to the candidates who are having only
the above mentioned prescribed qualifications.
(2) As the Commission is headquartered in Chennai, this post cannot
be transferable.
(3) Relaxation in age limit will be as per rules of the Tamil Nadu
Basic Service Rules,2007, dated:31.05.2007
(4) This Post is not a feeder category for higher post.

Post : Office Assistant

Number of Post : Four

Qualification 1) Should have passed 8th Standard from a recognized

school with Tamil as One Language as per Tamil

Corporations / Boards / State electricity utilities and desires to come on
regular basis, such candidates should apply through proper channel with a
“No Objection Certificate” from their employer or should produce the same
at the time of interview.
Mere fulfilling of eligibility criteria shall not bestow any right to be
called for interview. Only short-listed candidates shall be called for an
interview. TNERC reserves the right to keep this post unfilled depending
upon the circumstances prevailing at the time of selection. The
Commission’s decision in this regard shall be final.
