THE BOOK OF DANIEL
Matthew 24:14-15
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations,
and then the end will come.
The Great Tribulation
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the
prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),
Daniel 12:4
“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall
run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Revelation 22 :6-11
The Time Is Near
6 Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the [b]holy
prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.
7 “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
8 Now I, John, [c]saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before
the feet of the angel who showed me these things.9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do
that. [d]For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the
words of this book. Worship God.” 10 And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the
prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. 11 He who is unjust, let him be unjust
still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him [e]be righteous still; he who is
holy, let him be holy still.”

Jerusalem’s Judgment Inescapable
12 The word of the Lord came to me: 13 “Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful
and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its people
and their animals, 14 even if these three men—Noah, Daniel[a] and Job—were in
it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the
Sovereign Lord.

Ezekiel 28
A Prophecy Against the King of Tyre
28 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the
Sovereign Lord says:“‘In the pride of your heart you say, “I am a god;I sit on the throne of a god in
the heart of the seas.”But you are a mere mortal and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a
god.3 Are you wiser than Daniel[a]? Is no secret hidden from you?
Daniel 1:17
17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of
literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all
kinds.
DEEP SECRET REVEALER – ORDAINED BY GOD
Daniel 2:8-11
8 Then the king answered, “I am certain that you are trying to gain time, because you realize that this is
what I have firmly decided: 9 If you do not tell me the dream, there is only one penalty for you.
You have conspired to tell me misleading and wicked things, hoping the situation will change. So
then, tell me the dream, and I will know that you can interpret it for me.”10 The astrologers answered
the king, “There is no one on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty,
has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer. 11 What the king asks is
too difficult. No one can reveal it to the king except the gods, and they do not live
among humans.”
Genesis 28:10-13 , 16-17
Jacob’s Dream at Bethel
10 Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. 11 When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because
the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. 12 He had a dream in
which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were
ascending and descending on it. 13 There above it[c] stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your
father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.
16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place,
and I was not aware of it.” 17 He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than
the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”
Job 4:12-21
12 “Now a word was secretly brought to me,And my ear received a whisper of
it.13 In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night,When deep sleep falls on
men,14 Fear came upon me, and trembling,Which made all my bones
shake.15 Then a spirit passed before my face; The hair on my body stood up.16 It
stood still,But I could not discern its appearance.A form was before my eyes; There
was silence; Then I heard a voice saying:17 ‘Can a mortal be more righteous than
God?Can a man be more pure than his Maker?18 If He puts no trust in His servants,If He
charges His angels with error,19 How much more those who dwell in houses of clay,Whose foundation is in the
dust,Who are crushed before a moth?20 They are broken in pieces from morning till evening; They perish
forever, with no one regarding.21 Does not their own excellence go away? They die, even without wisdom.’
Acts 10:9-17-Peter Wondering Vision
9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to
pray. 10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a
trance. 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It
contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill
and eat.”14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”15 The voice spoke to
him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”16 This happened three times, and
immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.17 While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the
men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon’s house was and stopped at the gate.
Acts 11:2-4 , 12-17
2 So when Peter went up to Jerusalem, the circumcised believers criticized him 3 and said, “You went into the house
of uncircumcised men and ate with them.”4 Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story: 12 The
Spirit told me to have no hesitation about going with them. These six brothers also went with me, and we entered the
man’s house. 15 “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. 16 Then I
remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with[a] water, but you will be baptized with[b] the Holy
Spirit.’ 17 So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think
that I could stand in God’s way?”
Trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
Daniel 6:4-5
. 4 At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of
government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was
trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. 5 Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges
against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.”
Daniel 2:46
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and
ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him.
Daniel 5: 8-10, 15-17
8 Then all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant. 9 So
King Belshazzar became even more terrified and his face grew more pale. His nobles were baffled.10 The queen,
[c] hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. “May the king live forever!” she
said. “Don’t be alarmed! Don’t look so pale! 11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy
gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the
gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and
diviners.
15 The wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this writing and tell me what it means, but they
could not explain it. 16 Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve
difficult problems. If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in
purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest
ruler in the kingdom.”17 Then Daniel answered the king, “You may keep your gifts for yourself
and give your rewards to someone else. Nevertheless, I will read the writing for the king and tell
him what it means.
Matthew 12:38-40
The Sign of Jonah
38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a
sign from you.”39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be
given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the
belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Matthew 23:37
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed
to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.
Mark 14:1
Jesus Anointed at Bethany
Now the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests
and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
John 12:9-11
9 Meanwhile a large crowd of Jews found out that Jesus was there and came, not only because of him
but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. 10 So the chief priests made plans to kill
Lazarus as well, 11 for on account of him many of the Jews were going over to Jesus and believing in
him.
Reputation
Daniel 5:10-11- His reputation lives on -better than Joseph
10 The queen,[c] hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. “May the king live
forever!” she said. “Don’t be alarmed! Don’t look so pale! 11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the
spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and
wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians,
enchanters, astrologers and diviners.
Exodus 1:8-10
8 Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. 9 And he said to his
people, “Look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we; 10 come, let us deal shrewdly with
them, lest they multiply, and it happen, in the event of war, that they also join our enemies and fight against us,
and so go up out of the land.”
Fears God more than man
Daniel 6 : 7, 10- 11, 21-26
7 All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted
together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty
days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions
10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the
windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his
God, just as he had done before. 11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God
for help.
Daniel 6:21-26
21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’
mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I
have done no wrong before you.”23 Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that
they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury
whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.
Daniel and His Friends Obey God
Daniel 3:12, 16-18, 24-25
12 But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach
and Abednego—who pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image
of gold you have set up.” 16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do
not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we
serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us[c] from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not,
we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set
up.”
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to
his [d]counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?”They
answered and said to the king, “True, O king.”25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men
loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth
is like the[e] Son of God.”
God conveys His love to Daniel
Daniel 10:10-14
10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my
hands. 11 And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the
words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking
this word to me, I stood trembling.12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from
the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before
your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But
the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the
chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I have
come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the
vision refers to many days yet to come.”
Promise of Eternal Life
Daniel 12:13
13 “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your
inheritance at the end of the days.”

twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, that [g]Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the
year that he began to reign, released Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison.

That night, the Persians invaded. Cyrus the Great, king of Medo-Persia, broke through the supposedly
impenetrable wall of Babylon by cleverly diverting the river flowing into the city so that his soldiers
could enter through the river duct. Historical records show that this invasion was made possible
because the entire city was involved in a great feast
7. Darius the Mede -(medeo persian)king
1st King :Nebuchadnezzar was wicked but may have repented
Daniel 1 :1-2
1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came
to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into
his hand, with some of the articles of [a]the house of God, which he
carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god;
Jeremiah 25:8-9
8 “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Because you have not heard My words, 9 behold, I will send and
take all the families of the north,’ says the Lord, ‘and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My
servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and
will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
Jeremiah 27:6-8
4 And command them to say to their masters, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel—thus
you shall say to your masters: 5 ‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by
My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to
Me. 6 And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the
king of Babylon, My servant; and the beasts of the field I have also given him to
serve him. 7 So all nations shall serve him and his son and his son’s son, until the
time of his land comes; and then many nations and great kings shall make him
serve them. 8 And it shall be, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve
Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and which will not put its neck under the
yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation I will punish,’ says the Lord, ‘with the
sword, the famine, and the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
Jeremiah 43:10-13
10 and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will send
and bring Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will set his throne above
these stones that I have hidden. And he will spread his royal pavilion over them. 11 When he comes, he shall
strike the land of Egypt and deliver to death those appointed for death, and to captivity those appointed for
captivity, and to the sword those appointed for the sword. 12 [c]I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of
Egypt, and he shall burn them and carry them away captive. And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt,
as a shepherd puts on his garment, and he shall go out from there in peace. 13 He shall also break
the sacred pillars of [d]Beth Shemesh that are in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians
he shall burn with fire.” ’
1.2a- Nebuchadnezzar origins
Genesis 10:6-12
6 The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, [c]Put, and Canaan. 7 The sons of Cush were Seba,
Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and the sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.8 Cush
begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord;
therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 And the
beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 From
that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, 12 and Resen between Nineveh
and Calah (that is the principal city).
Nebuchadnezzar’s Dreams -demonic actions- becomes full of
pride to be God-Like
Daniel 2:2 , 29-35. 36-38
2 In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not
sleep.
29 “As Your Majesty was lying there, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries
showed you what is going to happen. 30 As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I
have greater wisdom than anyone else alive, but so that Your Majesty may know the interpretation and
that you may understand what went through your mind.31 “Your Majesty looked, and there
before you stood a large statue—an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in
appearance. 32 The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of
silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, 33 its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked
clay. 34 While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on
its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. 35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the
gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind
swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge
mountain and filled the whole earth.
36 “This was the dream, and now we will interpret it to the king. 37 Your Majesty, you are the king of
kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory; 38 in your hands
he has placed all mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds in the sky. Wherever they live,
he has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.
Daniel 3:3
The Image of Gold and the Blazing Furnace
3 King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide,[a] and set it up
on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
4 Then the herald loudly proclaimed, “Nations and peoples of every language, this
is what you are commanded to do: 5 As soon as you hear the sound of the horn,
flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and
worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. 6 Whoever does not
fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace.”
(Nebuchadnezzar made a statue but met Jesus)
Daniel 3:17-20, 24-25, 28-29 - Saved in Fiery Trial
17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will
deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods,
nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the
expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they
heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. 20 And he commanded certain mighty men of
valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery
furnace
24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his [d]counselors,
“Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?”They answered and said to the
king, “True, O king.”25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they
are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the[e] Son of God.”
28 Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who
sent His Angel[g] and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and
yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! 29 Therefore I make
a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no
other God who can deliver like this.”
Daniel 4:4-8
Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of a Tree
4 I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at home in my palace, contented and prosperous. 5 I had a dream that made me afraid.
As I was lying in bed, the images and visions that passed through my mind terrified me. 6 So I commanded that
all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret the dream for me. 7 When the
magicians, enchanters, astrologers[b] and diviners came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for
me. 8 Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar, after the name
of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)
10 These are the visions I saw while lying in bed: I looked, and there before me stood a tree in the middle of the
land. Its height was enormous. 11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched the sky; it was visible to the
ends of the earth. 12 Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit abundant, and on it was food for all. Under it the wild
animals found shelter, and the birds lived in its branches; from it every creature was fed.
14 He called in a loud voice: ‘Cut down the tree and trim off its branches; strip off its leaves and
scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee from under it and the birds from its branches. 15 But let the stump
and its roots, bound with iron and bronze, remain in the ground, in the grass of the field.
“‘Let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let him live with the animals among the plants of
the earth. 16 Let his mind be changed from that of a man and let him be given the mind of an animal,
till seven times[d] pass by for him.
25 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the
ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge
that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes. 26 The
command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you
when you acknowledge that Heaven rules. 27 Therefore, Your Majesty, be pleased to accept my
advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the
oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue.”
The Dream Is Fulfilled
Daniel 4:28-31
28 All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar. 29 Twelve months later, as the king was walking on the
roof of the royal palace of Babylon, 30 he said, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal
residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”31 Even as the words were on his
lips, a voice came from heaven, “This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your
royal authority has been taken from you.
36 At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the
glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and
became even greater than before. 37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of
heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is
able to humble.
2nd King – Belshazzar
Daniel 5:1-5, 24-30
The Writing on the Wall
5 King Belshazzar gave a great banquet for a thousand of his nobles and drank wine with
them. 2 While Belshazzar was drinking his wine, he gave orders to bring in the gold
and silver goblets that Nebuchadnezzar his father[a] had taken from the temple in
Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might
drink from them. 3 So they brought in the gold goblets that had been taken from the
temple of God in Jerusalem, and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines
drank from them. 4 As they drank the wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, of
bronze, iron, wood and stone.5 Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and
wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king
watched the hand as it wrote
24 Therefore he sent the hand that wrote the inscription.
25 “This is the inscription that was written: mene, mene, tekel, parsin
26 “Here is what these words mean:
Mene[e]: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.
27 Tekel[f]: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.
28 Peres[g]: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.”
29 Then at Belshazzar’s command, Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his
neck, and he was proclaimed the third highest ruler in the kingdom.
30 That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians,[h] was slain, 31 and Darius the Mede took
over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two.
Historical fact-That night, the Persians invaded. Cyrus the Great, king of Medo-Persia (father of Darius),
broke through the supposedly impenetrable wall of Babylon by cleverly diverting the river flowing into the city so that his
soldiers could enter through the river duct. Historical records show that this invasion was made possible
Numbers 4:15
15 And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the
sanctuary, when the camp is set to go, then the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them; but they shall
not touch any holy thing, lest they die.
3rd King-Darius
Daniel 6:21-26
21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent His angel and shut the lions’
mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I
have done no wrong before you.”23 Now the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that
they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury
whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.
25 Then King Darius wrote:
To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth:Peace be multiplied to you.
26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of
Daniel. For He is the living God,And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not
be destroyed,And His dominion shall endure to the end.27 He delivers and rescues,And He works signs
and wondersIn heaven and on earth,Who has delivered Daniel from the [i]power of the lions.
1.3 Kingdom of Babylon – characteristics
Genesis 11:1-2
The Tower of Babel- land of Shinar one world government
11 Now the whole earth had one language and one [a]speech. 2 And it came to pass,
as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they
dwelt there.3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks
and [b]bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for
mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose
top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over
the face of the whole earth.”
Revelation 13:7-9 , 11-17
7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them.
And authority was given him over every [d]tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who
dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the
Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into
captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the [e]patience and the faith
of the saints.
The Beast from the Earth
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a
dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who
dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even
makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives [f]those who
dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the
beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was
wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that
the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be
killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on
their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has [g]the mark or the name of the beast, or the
number of his name.
Daniel 5:1-4
Belshazzar’s Feast- prerequisite to John -revelation – abomination -Daniel 9:27,
5 Belshazzar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his lords, and drank wine in the
presence of the thousand. 2 While he tasted the wine, Belshazzar gave the command to bring the
gold and silver vessels which his [a]father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple which had
been in Jerusalem, that the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines might drink from
them. 3 Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken from the temple of the house of God
which had been in Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives, and his concubines drank from
them. 4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.

Daniel 6:3-11 –Babylon was a Demonic kingdom-prerequisite to John -revelation –
antichrist rule
3 Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional
qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. 4 At this, the administrators and the
satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they
were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither
corrupt nor negligent. 5 Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for
charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his
God.” 6 So these administrators and satraps went as a group to the king and said: “May King Darius
live forever! 7 The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and
governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree
that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days,
except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions’ den. 8 Now, Your Majesty,
issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered—in accordance with the law of the
Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.” 9 So King Darius put the decree in writing.10 Now
when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the
windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving
thanks to his God, just as he had done before. 11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel
praying and asking God for help.

man, and not a god, Though you set your heart as the heart of a god
Revelation 17 :3-6
3 So the angel took me in the Spirit[a] into the wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a
scarlet beast that had seven heads and ten horns, and blasphemies against God were written all
over it. 4 The woman wore purple and scarlet clothing and beautiful jewelry made of gold and precious
gems and pearls. In her hand she held a gold goblet full of obscenities and the impurities of her
immorality. 5 A mysterious name was written on her forehead: “Babylon the Great, Mother of All
Prostitutes and Obscenities in the World.” 6 I could see that she was drunk—drunk with the blood of
God’s holy people who were witnesses for Jesus. I stared at her in complete amazement.
