Max No. of Players: 1 - 2 players / team

Event Summary: Registered players are required to create a program for a prebuilt
autonomous robot to follow a line at the fastest time possible from
the start to the end line.

1. Robot Specifications

1.1. Robot type: 3-wheeled pre-built robot (provided by NOLITC)

1.3. Motors: 2 DC motors (188 rpm) with encoder
1.4. Sensor: 1 dual line follower sensor

2. Playing Field
2.1. Size of the playing field is 8ft x 8ft. Printed on a tarpaulin.

2.2. Black lines


2.2.1. Approximately 30mm in width.
2.2.2. Beginner (elementary) - consist of straight and curved lines.
2.2.3. Advanced (high school) - may have intersections and obstacles

3. Preparation and testing
3.1. Each player / team will be given a robot to use.
3.2. Players create a program, then upload to the robot and test on the playing field.
3.3. Robot must be ready before the game starts.

4. Game Proper
4.1. Start of the Game

4.1.1. The whole body of the robot is placed BEHIND the Start line.
4.1.2. The player turns ON the robot.
4.1.3. The player presses the START button of the robot upon the referee’s signal
4.1.4. The timer starts after pressing the START button.

4.1.5. The robot must move immediately and start tracing the line.
4.1.6. The game ends if ALL wheels of the robot move out of the centerline.

4.2. Scoring

4.2.1. Score will be based on the time the robot reaches the Finish line.
4.2.2. The timer stops and records when any part of the robot reaches the Finish line.

4.2.3. Each player will be given two (2) runs. The best run among the 2 runs will be
their FINAL score.
4.2.4. In the case of a TIE, the robot with the faster 2nd run wins.

4.2.5. When the robot goes outside the line, stops, or cannot continue the game, the

score is 120 seconds.

4.3. End of the Game


4.3.1. When the robot reached the finished line.

4.3.2. When all wheels of the robot go outside the line.


4.3.3. When the player touches the robot or human intervention is made.
