Job Summary:
The IT Security Engineer is responsible for safeguarding our company's network
and data. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining security
systems and practices to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in information security, risk
management, and IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Security Operations:
o Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts.
o Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
o Implement and manage security tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus,
IDS/IPS, SIEM).
o Investigate security breaches and perform forensic analysis.
• Risk Management:
o Identify and assess potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
o Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g.,
GDPR, HIPAA).
• Policy and Procedure Development:
o Develop, review, and enforce security policies, procedures, and
guidelines.
o Conduct security awareness training for employees.
• Network and System Security:
o Design and implement secure network architectures.
o Manage and secure cloud infrastructure and services.
o Ensure the secure configuration of hardware and software.
• Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with IT and other departments to ensure security
measures are integrated into overall IT infrastructure.
o Communicate security risks and issues to management and
stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or
a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in IT security or a related field.
o Proven experience with security operations, risk management, and
incident response.
• Certifications:
o Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA
Security+, or similar are highly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
o Proficiency with security technologies and tools (e.g., firewalls,
IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption).
o Strong understanding of network protocols, systems architecture,
and security architecture.
o Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
