II, DATA ANALYSIS
1, Resistance measurement:
3
R x ¿ 1 ∑ Ri=2179 (Ω)
3 i=1
√∑
3
2
∆ Rx = ( R xi −R x ) = 2(Ω)
i =1
3
Hence,
R x =R x ± ∆ R x = 2179 ± 2 (Ω)
2, Capacitance measurement:
3
1
C x= ∑ C =¿ 6.86 x 10−7 (F)
3 i=1 i
√∑
3
( C xi−C x ) = 0.01 x 10−7 (F)
2
∆ Cx = i =1
3
Hence,
C x =C x ± ∆ C x = (6.86 ± 0.01) 10−7 (F)
3, Inductance measurement:
3
1
L x= ∑ L =¿3.58 x 10−2 (H)
3 i=1 i
√∑
3
( Lxi −Lx ) = 0.02 x 10−2 (H)
2
∆ Lx = i =1
3
Hence,
L x = L x ± ∆ L x = (3.58± 0.02) 10−2 (H)

4, Determination of resonant frequency:
a, Parallel RLC circuit:
3
1
f ¿= ∑ f =¿1027 (Hz)
3 i=1 i
√∑
3
2
∆f¿ = ( f i −f ¿ ) = 1 (Hz)
i =1
3
Hence,
f ¿ =f ¿ ± ∆ f ¿ = 1027 ± 1 (Hz)
b, Series RLC circuit:
3
1
f series= ∑ f =¿1032 (Hz)
3 i=1 i
√∑
3
( f i −f series ) = 2 (Hz)
2
∆ f series = i =1
3
Hence,
f series =f series ± ∆ f series = 1032 ± 2 (Hz)
c, Theorical result:
Theoretically, we can calculate the resonant frequency of RLC circuit by the formula
1
f 0= . W ith C = 680 nF and L =35 mH, we get:
2 π √ LC
1
f prediction = = 1032 (Hz)
2 π √ LC
The theoretical result of resonant frequency is approximately equal to the directly
measured results. We can see that RLC circuit (with properly small resistance)
becomes a good approximation to an ideal LC circuit.
