Distortion—a no-nonsense stompbox effect that
boosts your sound to new heights of dirt, grit and
power.
Dial in distortion character with treble, bass, gain
and level controls, and use the internal trim
potentiometers to tailor distortion sounds even
more. Distortion is an indespensible effect in the
arsenal of any guitarist and bassist, and the
Hammertone Distortion puts this eminently
satisfying effect at your feet in every shade from
subtle to seismic.
OUTPUT JACK
Low-impedance output connects to amp or next pedal in signal chain.
INPUT JACK
High-impedance input for electric guitar, bass, acoustic guitars with
pickup systems, keyboards and other instruments.
DC POWER CONNECTOR
Connect DC adapter here. Standard center-negative 9VDC jack for use
with appropriate power supplies.
TREBLE CONTROL KNOB
Adjusts treble frequency level.
BASS CONTROL KNOB
Adjusts bass frequency level.
LEVEL CONTROL KNOB
Adjusts volume of distortion effect.
GAIN CONTROL KNOB
Adjusts gain level from a low-gain overdrive to full-blown high-gain
distortion.
LED
Illuminates when effect is on.
FOOTSWITCH
Turns effect on and off.
BATTERY COMPARTMENT (REAR)
Screw-access compartment houses one 9V battery.
INTERNAL TRIM POTENTIOMETERS (ACCESSIBLE BY
REMOVING COVER)
MIDRANGE trim pot is an EQ cut/boost control and is flat when set in
the center.
FILTER trim pot is a low-pass filter that helps remove excess high-
frequency energy or “fizz” (around 4kHz and higher) from
brighter-sounding amplifiers.
Remove cover using a flat-head screwdriver. Adjust trim pots using a
Phillips-head screwdriver.
