BENQUEST C-80F
Sequestering Agent
I. Introduction
BENQUEST C-80F is a special polymeric surfactant which shows excellent effect for
scale controlling and for sequestering the metal ionic (ex Fe2+, Fe3+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Cu2+ etc)
in water, Fiber or dyestuff. Especially for Indigo dyeing, it has good Fe3+, Fe2+ sequestering
ability, so it increases the bright shade of denim.
II. Properties:
1. Scale controlling for scouring or soaping process, BENQUEST C-80F has good
dispersibility for size stain and sodium silicate during de-sizing, scouring and
bleaching.
2. Stabilization of use for reactive dyes and Indigo dyes on cotton or rayon and the
improvement of purity.
3. Sequestering effect without bad influence on dyeing.
4. Low foaming property.
5. Removes calcium, magnesium and iron from the cotton.
6. Prevents catalytic damage and pinholes. Increases the final whiteness after the
peroxide bleach.
7. Prevents insoluble mineral salts scaling on the cylinders in steamer, washing box or
in the bleaching bath.
8. BENQUEST C-80F can be used at each step of the pretreatment of cotton, de-sizing,
scouring and bleaching.

Dispersibility Testing Step
1. Precise weighing 25 g sample, add distilled water to 250 ml. Then, use pipette taking 100 ml solution
to color comparison tube.
2. Weight 2.00 g Calcium carbonate powder (dried in oven first) fill into step 1 tube. Then, shake 100
times and rest 30 mins.
3. Use pipette to take solution 20 ml (from tube top to bottom calculate 30 ml) to erlenmeyer flask. Then,
add with 1 mol/L HCL 30 ml and wait for Calcium carbonate dissolve (be clarification liquid). Add 50
ml distilled water and 2 ml bromocresol green-methyl red mixed indicator.
4. Use 0.5 mol/L NaOH titration solution color to be brown, it be titration end-point (V1).
5. Use 100 ml distilled water repeat step 2-4, it be blank titration end-point (V0).
Calculation formula:Dispersibility (mg/g,CaCO3) = C (NaOH)×(V0-V1)×100.09/2=(V0-V1)*25
• C(NaOH) Sodium hydroxide solution 0.5 mol/L
• Calcium carbonate molecular weight is 100.09, and 2.00 is the mass of calcium carbonate contained in
the 20 ml test solution.
• V1:Using amount of 0.5 mol/L NaOH titrate to light brown
• V0:The number of milliliters at the end of the blank titration
