Name of the Department: Mechanical Engineering

School of Engineering

Faculty of Engineering and Technology

Program Name: Bachelor of Technology

Semester: I/II

Course Code: MEC1PM01A

Title: Ideas and Innovations in Manufacturing Credit: 01

Course Category: PM Assessment Code: PJ

Course Description (100 to 120 words):

Manufacturing is the backbone of the Engineering domain. Concept without feasibility is futile.
Hence to make students aware about various manufacturing practices followed, and to impart
hand skills in students; Ideas and Innovations in Manufacturing offers hands-on experience.
The course is equally important to all the students irrespective of their branches. We are
offering a blend of conventional manufacturing practices along with latest trends in engineering
like Laser cutting, Welding simulation etc. Students are making utility products during
practicals. After completion of jobs, students are designing and manufacturing a micro project
of their choice which will demonstrate the manufacturing techniques they have learned during
the course.
