❖ Embroider: Looks exactly like “Surface Crochet” only instead of a crochet hook, you will
use your tapestry needle. https://www.craftsy.com/blog/2015/12/how-to-do-chain-stitch/

❖ Reading the Pattern: To keep my patterns clean and easy to read, I try to use as little
verbiage as possible. Unless otherwise stated, assume that the first st of each row is
placed in the joining st from the previous row.
You will also notice that sometimes the number is in front of the st and
sometimes it comes after the st. Example: 2 Sc. Sc 13. 2 Sc
This is asking you to place 2 Sc in the next available st, 1 Sc in each of the next
13 sts, and 2 Sc in the next available st. Now let’s begin!

1
Legs -

Rnd 1: With G, Ch 1 + 6 Sc in a magic ring. Do not join throughout, unless otherwise stated.
Mark the last st in each row unless otherwise stated. (6 sts)
Rnd 2: 2 Sc in each st around. (12 sts)
Rnds 3-4: Sc around.
Rnd 5: Loosely Ss in each st around switching to R in the last st. Unless otherwise stated,
always cut the previous color and hide it as you go using the “Carrying Yarn” link should you
need help. Do not hide the end of the R, use it to sew the crotch closed when you are finished
with the doll.
Rnd 6: With R and working in the furthest loops (from Rnd 4), Sc in each st around.
Rnds 7-8: Sc in each st around. Finish off. Set aside and complete the 2nd leg by following
these same steps. This time, do not finish off.

Torso -

Rnd 9: 2 Sc in the next st. Now you will be attaching the two legs together. Locate the st just to
the left of where you finished off on the first leg that you made. Place 2 Sc in that st. (Sc 2. 2 Sc)
3 times. Sc 1. 2 Sc in the last st. Being careful not to twist the legs, place 2 Sc in the next
available st on the other leg. Sc 1. (2 Sc. Sc 2) 3 times. (34 sts)

secure with a knot. Hide the yarn through the center of the head.

Mask -

Rnd 1: With R, prepare to work surface crochet across the top of the face area (where R and P
meet behind the front loop of P). Work ss surface crochet across the top of the face, then down
the side hiding the edges where the colors meet. Working in the free loop, ss across the bottom
of the face. Now work back up the side and join to the first ss. Finish off.
