3. Workaround for Field
In case of a broken or deformed spring please make service Request for Documentation & parts
by Remedy.
To prevent a broken spring deactivate the “Speed Reduction” function.
Install Maintenance Firmware Release 2, Firmware “G00-G8”; it add Engine “DipSwitch
54” to stop the speed reduction control of exit roller.
After having uploaded the Firmware “G00-G8” modify the setting of DipSwitch 54
performing the following procedure:
Enter in “Service Mode” Touch “Stop 0 C” to enter in “Enhanced Security Mode”
Touch “Engine FW DipSW” button Touch the arrow down to go to “page 2/2” Select
“DipSwitch 54” to enable it. (DipSwitch 54 Enabled = black background)

5. Field Action:
The following operation has to be performed in Field:
a) When you Install a new machine (d-Color MF654 Series):
It is Mandatory when you install d-Color MF654, d-Color MF554, d-Color MF454 without
Finishing Options installed. (Only when the MFP's are installed as Basic Machines)
During the installation of a new MFP which will be installed as basic machine (No Finishing
Options installed), upload the FW version “G00-G8” to the MFP and then set the “Dip Switch
54” to “ON” as above described.
b) Machine already installed at Customer Site (d-Color MF654 Series):
For all d-Color MF654, MF554, MF454 without Finishing Options installed (Installed only as
Basic Machine), please create a scheduled visit as soon as possible to upload the Firmware
Version “G00-G8” to the MFP and then and then set the “Dip Switch 54” to “ON” as above
described.
c) Machine visit because of broken or deformed spring (d-Color MF654 Series):
In case of MFP display JAM Code “J 32-05” due the spring that is damaged or broken, please
provide to Olivetti the information requested in the table on next page:
