1. An unbiased coin is tossed and a fair die is thrown. What is the probability of the results being a Head and
a 2? Answer: 1/12 [2 marks]

2. A shopping basket contains 3 buns, 8 potatoes, 4 apples and 5 sweets. The basket dropped. What is the
probability that

(a) A potato fell out? Answer: 2/5 [1 mark]


(b) An apple or potato fell out? Answer: 3/5 [2 marks]

3. A bag contains 1 blue bead and 4 red beads. A girl takes two beads at random from the bag, one after the
other.

(a) Draw the probability tree diagram.

4. Write down the equation of the line shown in the figure below.
