Study the extract of Survey of India Map Sheet No.43S10 Northings (28-39) Eastings (63-72) and answer
the following questions:
(i) (a) Give the six figure grid reference of .470 at the south east corner of the map. 704289 [1]
(b) Name the landform found in the south east corner of the map. What is the contour interval of

(ii) (a) The cardinal direction of village Pithapura from the Burar Khera. West [½]
(b) Name any two natural and one man made feature suggesting the seasonal rainfall of the area.

Ans: Mangalore lies on the windward side of western ghats and receives rainfall from SW monsoon
