11- HOW TO CARRY YOUR ROUTINE AS A FREELANCER
Freelancers are the most independent professionals. They enjoy a great deal of
flexibility. Maintenance of a proper routine is a tough challenge for freelancers
because working from home makes you a bit lazy, which becomes a cause of
your failure. To maintain a proper routine you need to structure your daily
activities.
Everyone has their vision of an 'Ideal Day'. I'm sharing a general pattern that
you can customize with your preference. :
20
- Clear all pending work
- Estimate your productivity of the day and pack up
- Sleep
(Remember, this is a general outline, and you should feel free to adjust it to suit
your needs and preferences. Prioritize self-care, work-life balance, and
flexibility to maintain a healthy and productive freelancing routine)
To catch the most relevant jobs without delays, you must keep an eye on Jobs
page of your freelancing site. Submit it as soon as you see any new job posted.
Make sure to estimate the hours you are ahead or ago from EST time zone while
working with your clients so you may not disturb them on irrelevant time. It’s
good to ask them which time is most suitable for them to communicate on daily
basis. Present them daily reports on that fixed time to stay consistent.
21
12- HOW TO GET SUCCESSFUL IN FREELANCING
Many people start as freelancers but a few of them get successful in it. The most
common reason for failure in freelancing is that they don't take it seriously.
They think it’s open, random and remote so no need to get bound in it. If you
want to be successful, you must fulfil the following needs.
22
4- Clarity & Effectiveness of Bid Proposal
While submitting bids, make your proposal very clear, effective, and
detailed. This topic is previously explained in page no. 18 &19.
5- Ranking Factor
Ranking means increasing the reach of your profile and service towards
clients. Use relevant keywords in your profile for ranking purpose. If your
profile is ranked, your service will appear on top while client’s selection
process.
23
8- Be Consistent
Do not break the regularity of your work. Do not lose hope in the initial
days if it takes time to get your first job. Submit 4-5 proposals daily. You
can fix 45 minutes daily to submit proposals. It will definitely help you to
win your first job IA.
9- Get experience
Consider your first job's work as an investment to get the next jobs. The
work you do for your first client will be added to your experience list. You
can add that project in your portfolio as well. With time you will learn
Ask your client for an honest feedback after the completion of your first
projects. Positive feedback will be helpful to win the trust of further clients.
In this way you will keep progressing with several reviews & projects.
