1 Get to know your device


1.1 Overview
The device is designed as your reliable personal mobile Wi-Fi.

Just inserting a SIM card, you can enjoy fast 4G LTE network with your family and friends.
The device is a multi-mode wireless terminal for Small Office and Home Office (SOHO) and
business professionals. And you can enjoy your journey with the 4G LTE mobile Wi-Fi.

The mobile Wi-Fi with lithium battery can be powered and charged by the USB-C port and is your
ideal network companion with its compact size and portability.

1.2 LED indicators

LED Status Description

Solid on The mobile Wi-Fi is connected to the internet.

(Internet) Off The mobile Wi-Fi is not connected to the internet.

Solid on The Wi-Fi network is available.

(Wi-Fi) Off The Wi-Fi network is disabled.

Solid green The remaining power is above 30%.

Blinking green The mobile Wi-Fi is charging.

Power-saving mode:
− The remaining power is 20%-30%.
(Battery) Solid orange
− The remaining power is above 30%, and you can enable it
manually.

Solid red The remaining power is below 20%. You need to charge the mobile Wi-Fi.

1.3 Buttons, slot and port

1.4 Label

Item Description

Model Specifies the model name of the mobile Wi-Fi.

Login URL Specifies the URL used to log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi.

Power Specifies the rated power of the mobile Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi Name Specify the default Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi key of the mobile Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi Key You can use the Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi key to connect to the mobile Wi-Fi.

Specifies the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) usually used to identify
IMEI
valid mobile phones in the network.

MAC Specifies the physical address of the mobile Wi-Fi.

SN Specifies the Serial Number (SN) used for product identification.

2 Quick setup

A smartphone (iOS system) is used as an example.

To quickly configure the internet settings, perform the following steps:


Step 1 Tap the (Settings) on the smartphone, and tap WLAN.
Step 2 Connect the smartphone to the Wi-Fi network of the mobile Wi-Fi, which is
Tenda_06D7C6 in this example.

Step 3 Start a browser on your smartphone, visit tendawifi.com or 192.168.0.1 to log in to the
web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi.

Step 4 Tap Start.

− Ensure that the SIM card has sufficient balance and can be used to access the data service of
your mobile carrier.
− When the prompt information “Insert your SIM card”, “No default APN” or “No service” is
shown on the page, solve the problem according to the page prompts.

Step 5 Set the Wi-Fi name, Wi-Fi key and login password for the mobile Wi-Fi, and tap Save.

The Wi-Fi key is used to connect to the Wi-Fi network, while the login password is used to log in to the
web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi.

3 Login and logout


3.1 Login
3.1.1 Login with smartphone
A smartphone (iOS system) is used as an example. Other mobile clients are similar.
Step 1 Repeat Steps 1 - 3 in Quick setup.
Step 2 Enter the Wi-Fi key of the mobile Wi-Fi and tap Login.

If the above page does not appear, try the following methods:
− Ensure that your smartphone is connected to the Wi-Fi network of the mobile Wi-Fi.
− Disable the cellular network of your smartphone.
− Clear the cache of your web browser or change another web browser and try again.
− Reboot the mobile Wi-Fi and try again.
− Reset the mobile Wi-Fi and try again.

3.1.2 Login with computer


Step 1 Use the included USB-C cable to connect the mobile Wi-Fi to a USB port of a computer.
Step 2 Set the IP address of the computer to an unused one belonging to the same network
segment of the IP address of the mobile Wi-Fi.
For example, if the IP address of the mobile Wi-Fi is 192.168.0.1, you can set the IP
address of the computer to 192.168.0.X (X ranges from 2 to 254 and is unused), and
subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.

Step 3 Start a web browser on your computer, visit the IP address of the mobile Wi-Fi
(192.168.0.1 by default), and press the Enter (or Return) key on your keyboard.

Step 4 Enter your login password, and tap Login.

If the above page does not appear, try the following methods:
− Ensure that the computer has connected to the mobile Wi-Fi properly.
− Ensure that the IP address of your computer is 192.168.0.X (X ranges from 2 to 254 and is
unused).
− Clear the cache of your web browser or change another web browser and try again.
− Reboot the mobile Wi-Fi and try again.
− Reset the mobile Wi-Fi and try again.

After the login is successful, the following page appears.

3.2 Log out


If you log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi and perform no operation within 5 minutes, the
mobile Wi-Fi logs you out automatically.

When you are logged out, the system does not save the current unsaved configurations. Therefore,
it is recommended that you save the current configuration before logging out.

4 Internet settings
4.1 View the network status
To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to
Internet.
On this page, you can view the network status of the mobile Wi-Fi. When the mobile Wi-Fi is
connected to the internet, it displays the connection duration. And you can tap Disconnect on the
bottom page to disconnect from the internet.

4.2 Configure the internet settings


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to
Internet.

On this page, you can change the internet settings of the mobile Wi-Fi, such as configuring the
cellular data and APN settings.

The related parameters can be obtained by consulting the Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Parameter description

Parameter Description

Used to enable or disable the cellular data. When it is disabled, you cannot access the

internet through the mobile Wi-Fi.

Parameter Description

Used to enable or disable data roaming for the SIM card inserted in the mobile Wi-Fi.
Data Roaming Data roaming means the data usage produced when you are outside the coverage of
your ISP. You can disable data roaming to avoid roaming data usage and charges.

Specifies the cellular network type for internet access.


− 4G Preferred: Priority to sign up for the 4G cellular network to access the
Cellular Network internet.
− 4G Only: Only access the internet by signing up for the 4G cellular network.
− 3G Only: Only access the internet by signing up for the 3G cellular network.

ISP Name Specifies the name of the ISP.

APN Type Specifies the APN type.

Specifies the Packet Data Protocol (PDP) type of the APN, including IPV4, IPV6, and
PDP Type
IPV4&IPV6.

Specifies the Access Point Name (APN). Only digits, uppercase and lowercase letters,
APN dots (.), and hyphens (-) are allowed in an APN name. An APN name cannot start with
or end with a dot or hyphen.

Username Specifies the user name for authentication.

Password Specifies the password for authentication.

Specifies the authentication type specified by your ISP for the APN.
− NONE: No authentication.
− PAP: Password Authentication Protocol (PAP) provides a simple method
Authentication Type without encryption for the peer to establish its identity using a 2-way
handshake.
− CHAP: Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) is used to
periodically verify the identity of the peer using a 3-way handshake.
− PAP&CHAP: It adopts the mixed authentication type of PAP and CHAP.

4.2.1 Change cellular network preference


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to
Internet.

On this page, you can change the preference towards the cellular network.
Assume that you are using the mobile Wi-Fi outside the coverage of the ISP of your SIM card and
want to use 4G network only.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Internet.
Step 2 Enable Cellular Data and Data Roaming.
Step 3 Set Cellular Network to 4G Only.
Step 4 Tap Connect.

After the configuration is completed, you can use the 4G network only to access the internet
outside the coverage of your ISP.

4.2.2 Configure the APN settings


An Access Point Name (APN) is a gateway between a cellular network and the internet. A mobile
device making a data connection must be configured with an APN to present to the ISP.
If the mobile Wi-Fi cannot identify APN parameters automatically and access the internet, or when
the mobile Wi-Fi already received 4G signal but cannot be connected to the internet properly, you
need to configure the APN dial-up information of the ISP. Or you want to manually set the APN
parameters, you can also configure the APN dial-up information. The APN information can be
obtained by consulting the ISP’s service personnel.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Internet.
Step 2 Tap ISP Name, and tap Add.
Step 3 Enter the required parameters inquired from your ISP.
Step 4 Tap Save.

Step 5 Select the ISP on the ISP Selection page.


Step 6 Tap Connect on the Internet page.

Wait a moment. The mobile Wi-Fi will use the parameters you entered to dial up for internet
access, and you can access the internet.

5 Wi-Fi settings
5.1 Overview
To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Wi-Fi.

On this page, you can configure basic Wi-Fi parameters, such as the Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi key. And
you can also configure the advanced Wi-Fi settings of the mobile Wi-Fi.
After the configuration is completed, tap Save to make the configuration take effect. After the
configuration is applied, Wi-Fi-enabled devices need to be reconnected to the mobile Wi-Fi.

If no client connects to the mobile Wi-Fi within 10 minutes, the mobile Wi-Fi will disable the Wi-Fi. To
enable it, press the Power button

Parameter description

Parameter Description

Wi-Fi Name Specifies the Wi-Fi name of the Wi-Fi network.

Used to hide the Wi-Fi name of the Wi-Fi network to improve the security level of the Wi-Fi
network.
Hide When this function is enabled, the Wi-Fi network is invisible to Wi-Fi-enabled devices. You
need to enter the Wi-Fi name of the Wi-Fi network on your Wi-Fi-enabled devices (such as
a smartphone) manually if you want to join the Wi-Fi network.

Specifies the password for connecting to the Wi-Fi network. You are strongly
recommended to set a Wi-Fi password for security.

Wi-Fi Key

It is recommended to use the combination of digits, uppercase letters, lowercase letters,


and special symbols in the password to enhance the security of the Wi-Fi network.

Specifies the encryption modes supported by the mobile Wi-Fi, including:


− None: The Wi-Fi network is not encrypted and any clients can access the network
without a password. This option is not recommended as it leads to low network
security.
− WPA-PSK: The network is encrypted with WPA-PSK/AES, which has a better
Encryption compatibility than WPA2-PSK.
Mode − WPA2-PSK: The network is encrypted with WPA2-PSK/AES, which has a higher
security level than WPA-PSK.
− WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK: WPA-PSK and WPA2-PSK are adopted to encrypt the
network, providing both security and compatibility.
− WPA3-SAE/WPA2-PSK: The Wi-Fi network adopts the mixed encryption mode of
WPA2-PSK/AES and WPA3-SAE/AES to ensure the higher safety. You are
recommended to use this encryption mode.

Specifies the channel of Wi-Fi network. The options vary according to the selected country
or region.

Wi-Fi Channel By default, the Wi-Fi channel is Automatic, which indicates that the mobile Wi-Fi selects a
channel for the Wi-Fi network automatically. You are recommended to choose a channel
with less interference for better Wi-Fi transmission efficiency. You can use a third-party
tool to scan the Wi-Fi signals nearby to understand the channel usage situations.

Specifies the Wi-Fi network standards supported by the mobile Wi-Fi.


Wi-Fi Mode Only the Wi-Fi clients compliant with the standards can connect to the mobile Wi-Fi. The
Wi-Fi mode is 11b/g/n/ax Mixed by default.

Country/Region Specifies the country or region where the mobile Wi-Fi is used.

5.2 Change the Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi key


Assume that you want to change the Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi key to Tenda_123456 and
John_Doe123. And WPA3-SAE/WPA2-PSK is set to the encryption mode.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Wi-Fi.
Step 2 Change and configure the parameters of the Wi-Fi network as required.
1. Change the Wi-Fi Name of the Wi-Fi network, which is Tenda_123456 in this example.
2. Set the Wi-Fi Key of the Wi-Fi network, which is John_Doe123 in this example.
3. Set the Encryption Mode, which is WPA3-SAE/WPA2-PSK in this example.
Step 3 Tap Save.

After the configuration is completed, you can connect your Wi-Fi-enabled devices to the Wi-Fi
network of the mobile Wi-Fi to access the internet.

5.3 Hide the Wi-Fi network


The hidden Wi-Fi network is invisible to the Wi-Fi device, thus improving the security of the
network.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Wi-Fi.
Step 2 Select Hide.
Step 3 Tap Save.

After the configuration is completed, the Wi-Fi name is invisible to the Wi-Fi device.

5.4 Connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network


When a Wi-Fi network is hidden, you need to enter the Wi-Fi name manually first and connect to
it.

Assume that the parameters are:


− Wi-Fi name: Tenda_123456
− Wi-Fi password: John_Doe123
− Encryption mode: WPA3-SAE/WPA2-PSK

If you do not remember the Wi-Fi parameters of the Wi-Fi network, log in to the web UI of the mobile
Wi-Fi, and navigate to Wi-Fi to find them.

Procedure for connecting to the Wi-Fi network on your Wi-Fi device (Example: iPhone):
Step 1 Tap (Settings) on your smartphone, and tap WLAN.
Step 2 Enable WLAN, scroll the Wi-Fi list to the bottom, and tap Other….
Step 3 Enter the Wi-Fi name and password, which are Tenda_123456 and John_Doe123 in this
example.
Step 4 Set Security to WPA2/WPA3 (If WPA2/WPA3 is not available, select WPA3).
Step 5 Tap Join.

After the configuration is completed, you can connect to the hidden Wi-Fi to access the internet.

6 Client management
6.1 View online devices
On this page, you can view the information of clients connected to the mobile Wi-Fi, including the
IP address and MAC address. And you can also modify the client remarks.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Client.
Step 2 Select the client to be viewed, which is Huawei in this example.

Step 3 (Optional) Tap in the upper right corner to modify the client remarks, and tap OK.

If the Internet Access function of the client is disabled, the client will be moved to the blocklist and
cannot connect to the Wi-Fi network of the mobile Wi-Fi.

6.2 Add devices to the blocklist


On this page, you can add clients to the blocklist to block the internet access.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Client.
Step 2 Target the client to be added in Online Device, and tap .

Step 3 Confirm the prompt information, and tap OK.

Navigate to Client > Blocklist, you can view the information of the client that is added to the
blocklist.

6.3 Remove devices from the blocklist


On this page, you can remove clients from the blocklist as required.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Client > Blocklist.
Step 2 Target the client to be removed from the blocklist, and tap Remove.

After the configuration is completed, the client is removed from the blocklist and can be connected
to the mobile Wi-Fi again.

7 Data plan
7.1 Overview
To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Data
Plan.

On this page, you can view and update data usage statistics, and configure data usage settings,
such as data usage limit and usage notification.

The mobile Wi-Fi supports data calibration. If the data displayed on the web UI is different from the
actual used, you can tap Update to manually modify the used data.

Parameter Description

Specifies the cellular data plan of the mobile Wi-Fi.


− No Limit: It indicates that no limits on data usage.
− Set Limit: It indicates that you can set the data limit function. When the limit is
Data Plan reached, the mobile Wi-Fi will disconnect from the internet automatically.
− Monthly Statistics: It indicates that you can set the monthly data statistics
function. The mobile Wi-Fi will clear the used data at the date specified in Start
Date.

7.2 Configure data limit


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Data
Plan.

On this page, you can view and configure data usage settings, such as data usage limit and usage
notification.

The SIM notification function is disabled by default. The following displays the page when the
function is enabled.

Parameter description

Parameter Description

Monthly Data Specifies the specific maximum data usage allowed for each month.

SMS Notification Specifies whether to enable the SMS notification function.

When the percentage of data used reaches the limit, the mobile Wi-Fi will send a
Threshold
SMS notification to a specified phone number.

Specifies the phone number for receiving the SMS notification.


Mobile Number
You can tap Send to test the phone number after you entered the mobile number.

7.3 Configure monthly data statistics


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Data
Plan.

On this page, you can configure the monthly data statistics of the mobile Wi-Fi. After the
configuration is completed, the mobile Wi-Fi will clear the used data at the date specified.

Parameter description

Parameter Description

Specifies the date at which the mobile Wi-Fi clears the data statistics of the last

month and starts to record the following month.

7.4 An example of cellular data configurations


Scenario: You inserted a SIM card in the mobile Wi-Fi to provide mobile internet access for your
smartphone, iPad and laptop.

Goal: You want to receive SMS notification on your smartphone and get prepared when the usage
reaches a certain amount every month.

Solution: You can configure cellular data settings to reach the goal.

Assume that:
− Monthly available data: 10 GB
− Start date of data usage record: 1st each month
− Threshold: 80% (Value: 8 GB)
− Mobile number: 188****5555
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Data Plan.
Step 2 (Optional) Tap Update to update the current usage data.
Step 3 Set the data limit, and tap Save.
1. Set Data Plan to Set Limit.
2. Set Monthly data to 10, and select GB.
3. Enable the SMS Notification function.
4. Set Threshold, which is 80% (Value: 8 GB) in this example.
5. Set Mobile Number, which is 188****5555 in this example.

Step 4 Set the monthly data statistics, and tap Save.


1. Set Data Plan to Monthly Statistics.
2. Set Start Date, which is 1 of Every Month in this example.

After the configuration is completed, you will receive a SMS message when the data usage reached
8 GB and cannot access the internet through the mobile Wi-Fi when the data usage reached 10 GB.

If you want to connect to the internet again after the data limit is reached, try the following methods:
− Change the used data by tapping Update.
− Set Data Plan to No Limit.

8 SMS message
This mobile Wi-Fi supports sending, receiving and deleting SMS messages on the web UI.

8.1.1 Send SMS messages


Send SMS messages to a new phone number
Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to Message.
Step 2 Tap in the upper right corner.
Step 3 Enter the phone number in the Recipient column.
Step 4 Enter the message content in the column at the bottom.

Step 5 Tap Send at the bottom right corner.

9 More
9.1 Power saving
To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More >
Power Saving.
On this page, you can adjust the power-saving mode to extend the usage time of the mobile Wi-Fi.

Parameter description

Parameter Description

Specifies the power-saving mode of the mobile Wi-Fi, including Standard and Energy
Saving.
− Standard: It is recommended to use the standard mode when the
remaining power is sufficient. The Wi-Fi coverage in standard mode is
Power-saving Mode larger, but it consumes more power.
− Energy Saving: When the remaining power is low (about 20%-30%), the
energy saving mode will be automatically enabled to extend the usage
time of the mobile Wi-Fi. Energy saving mode can save the power, but Wi-
Fi coverage will be smaller.

9.2 Login password


To ensure network security, a login password is recommended. A login password consisting of
more types of characters, such as uppercase letters and lowercase letters, brings higher security.

To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More >
Login Password.
On this page, you can change the password and the old password is required.

If you forgot your login password and cannot log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, refer to reset the
mobile Wi-Fi to restore the mobile Wi-Fi to factory settings and log in to the web UI again.

9.3 SIM PIN


SIM PIN is a protective measure to prevent your SIM card from misuse. If your SIM card is locked
when you insert it into the mobile Wi-Fi, you are required to unlock it for internet access.

To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More >
SIM PIN.
When the status of the SIM card is normal, the page is shown as below.

9.3.1 Insert SIM card correctly


If no SIM card is detected, you can complete the operation according to the page prompts.

9.3.2 Use PUK code to set PIN code


If PUK code is locked, you must contact your ISP for the PUK code to reset the PIN code. Otherwise
the SIM card will be locked permanently after you enter the wrong PUK code for 10 times. And
then set a new PIN code for the SIM card.

When SIM Card Locked is shown on the page, it indicates the SIM card is permanently blocked. Try
again with another SIM card or contact your ISP for help.

9.4 DHCP settings


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More >
DHCP Settings.

On this page, you can:


◼ Change the IP address and subnet mask of the mobile Wi-Fi.
◼ Change the DHCP server parameters of the mobile Wi-Fi.
The DHCP server can automatically assign IP address, subnet mask, gateway and other
information to clients within the LAN. If you disable this function, you need to manually
configure the IP address information on the client to access the internet. Do not disable
the DHCP server function unless necessary.
◼ Configure the DNS information assigned to clients.

If you have changed the LAN IP address of the mobile Wi-Fi:


− Use the new IP address to access the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi.
− Set the new IP address as the gateway IP address of a client for which IP address settings are
configured manually.

Parameter description

Parameter Description

Specifies the LAN IP address of the mobile Wi-Fi, which is also the management IP

address for logging in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi.

Specifies the subnet mask of the mobile Wi-Fi, which is used to identify the IP address

range of the local area network.

Specifies whether to enable the DHCP server function. Once enabled, the DHCP server
DHCP Server automatically assigns internet parameters such as IP address, subnet mask and
gateway address to the client. This function is recommended to be enabled.

Specify the range of IP addresses that can be assigned to devices connected to the
Start IP mobile Wi-Fi. The default range is 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254.

End IP
It is available only when DHCP Server is enabled.

Specifies the valid duration of the IP address that is assigned to a client. After an IP
address expires, the mobile Wi-Fi can assign it to any client.
The default value is recommended.
Lease Time

It is available only when DHCP Server is enabled.

Specifies whether to allocate another DNS address to the client. When it is disabled,
the LAN IP address of the mobile Wi-Fi is used as the DNS address of the client. When
it is enabled, Primary DNS must be set and Secondary DNS is optional.
Manual DNS

It is available only when DHCP Server is enabled.

Specifies the primary DNS address of the mobile Wi-Fi, which is assigned to the clients.
You can change it if necessary. Ensure that the primary DNS server is the IP address of
the correct DNS server or DNS proxy. Otherwise, you may fail to access the internet.
Primary DNS

It is available only when Manual DNS is enabled.

Specifies the secondary DNS address of the mobile Wi-Fi used to assign to the clients.
It is an optional field and is left blank by default.
Secondary DNS

It is available only when Manual DNS is enabled.

9.5 ISP upgrade


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More >
ISP Upgrade.

On this page, you can update the ISP information to obtain the better user experience. When you
cannot access the internet, you can try to use this function to solve the problem.

To prevent the mobile Wi-Fi from being damaged:


− Ensure that the update file is applicable to the mobile Wi-Fi.
− When you are updating the ISP information, do not power off the mobile Wi-Fi.

Procedure:

Step 1 Go to www.tendacn.com. Download an applicable ISP update file to your smartphone.


Step 2 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More > ISP Upgrade.
Step 3 Tap Select, and tap Choose File. Select and upload the ISP update file that has been
downloaded in Step 1, and tap Start.

Reboot the mobile Wi-Fi to make the configuration to take effect. Log in to the web UI of the
mobile Wi-Fi again, you can check whether the upgrade is successful based on the Current version

9.6 Firmware upgrade


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More >
Firmware Upgrade.

This function enables the mobile Wi-Fi to obtain the latest functions and more stable performance.
The mobile Wi-Fi supports online upgrade and local upgrade.

9.6.1 Online upgrade


When the mobile Wi-Fi is connected to the internet, it auto-detects whether there is a new
firmware and displays the detected information on the page. You can choose whether to upgrade
to the latest firmware.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More > Firmware Upgrade.
Step 2 Wait until a new firmware version is detected (if any), and tap Online Upgrade.

It is available only when the new firmware of the mobile Wi-Fi is detected.

Step 3 Confirm the prompt information, and tap Upgrade.

9.6.2 Local upgrade

To prevent the mobile Wi-Fi from being damaged:


− Ensure that the firmware is applicable to the mobile Wi-Fi.
− When you are upgrading the firmware, do not power off the mobile Wi-Fi.

Step 1 Go to www.tendacn.com. Download an applicable firmware of the mobile Wi-Fi to your


smartphone.
Step 2 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More > Firmware Upgrade.
Step 3 Tap Local Upgrade.
Step 4 Tap Select. Select and upload the firmware that has been downloaded to your
smartphone in Step 1, and tap Upgrade.

Step 5 Confirm the prompt information, and tap Upgrade.

9.7 Reset and reboot


9.7.1 Reset
If you are uncertain about why the internet is inaccessible through the mobile Wi-Fi or you forget
the login password of the mobile Wi-Fi, you can reset the mobile Wi-Fi.

− Resetting the mobile Wi-Fi is not recommended unless you cannot find a solution for the current
problem anyway. You need to reconfigure the mobile Wi-Fi after it is reset.
− Ensure that the power supply of the mobile Wi-Fi is normal when the mobile Wi-Fi is reset.
Otherwise the mobile Wi-Fi could be damaged.

Reset the mobile Wi-Fi using the reset button


Hold the reset button using a sharp object for about 6 seconds, and then release it when all LED
indicators light up once and then light off. When the LED indicators light again, the mobile Wi-Fi is
restored to factory settings successfully.

Reset the mobile Wi-Fi on the web UI


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, navigate to More >
Reset, and tap Reset.

Confirm the prompt information and wait for a moment until the reset finishes.

9.7.2 Reboot
If any parameter fails to take effect or the mobile Wi-Fi does not work properly, you can try
rebooting the mobile Wi-Fi.

Rebooting the mobile Wi-Fi will disconnect all connections to the mobile Wi-Fi. Reboot the mobile Wi-
Fi during leisure times.

To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, navigate to More >
Reboot, and tap Reboot.

Confirm the prompt information and wait for a moment until the reboot finishes.

9.8 System time


You can change the time settings on this page. The functioning of functions based on time requires
an accurate system time. The system time of the mobile Wi-Fi can be synchronized with the
internet or local device. By default, it is synchronized with the internet.

9.8.1 Sync system time with the internet time


To access the configuration page, log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More >
System Time.

Under this mode, the mobile Wi-Fi will automatically sync its time with the internet time when it is
connected to the internet.
Procedure:

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More > System Time.
Step 2 Select Sync with internet time for Time Settings.
Step 3 Tap Save.

9.8.2 Sync system time with the local time

You can sync the system time of the mobile Wi-Fi with the device that is configuring the mobile Wi-
Fi. Besides, you need to correct it every time after you reboot the mobile Wi-Fi to ensure the
accuracy of system time.

Step 1 Log in to the web UI of the mobile Wi-Fi, and navigate to More > System Time.
Step 2 Select Sync with local time for Time Settings.
Step 3 Tap Save.
