Psychology project
Introduction
Childhood is a crucial and fascinating phase of human
development, marked by biological, cognitive, emotional, and
social changes. In this psychological project, we observe a child
of 12 years, an important age in the developmental growth of
children. This age marks the transition from middle childhood to
early adolescence, signifying a period of remarkable growth and
transformation.
This investigation aims to shed light on the chosen developmental
stage, emphasizing its characteristics and the associated
developmental tasks. We will dive into the cognitive maturation,
the emotional upheavals, and the evolving social dynamics that
define this period. By closely observing a 12-year-old child, we
seek to recognize the elaborate interplay between nature and
nurture in shaping their development.

procedure includes the following steps

3)Establish your method of gathering data
4)Observe
5)Prepare your data
6)Analyze behaviors in your data
The subject is 12 years old and in the middle childhood
stage. The subject is a male living in an urban area, has

The subject is completing their math homework and is fully
immersed in the process after which the subject is trying to solve
a puzzle while watching TV. the subject is trying to solve the
puzzle in the beginning and has some failed attempts in the
process after which the subject is distracted and doesn't take
interest in solving the puzzle anymore and watches TV only.
Day 2
The subject is trying to take a glass from a height and breaks the

happy with the fact that he isn't winning but tries to hide it. the
subject finishes playing and then talks about his strategies while
playing the game after which the subject helps in setting up the
table again but is not as careful as he was the day before
Discussion
The subject has developed logical and critical thinking to an
extent as the subject is able to solve mathematical problems
The subject was overwhelmed by the puzzle realized it was
causing stress and decided to put it aside as something else was
available to catch his attention .this shows a short attention span
On the second day the subject shows emotional maturity as he
subject can realise they have done something wrong the subject
then tries to not repeat that by being extra careful while
arranging the table this shows the development of critical
thinking and the ability to relate situations and make decisions
On the third day, the child shows the influence of peer groups on
the feelings of a person the subject feels sad when he isn't winning
. the subject also shows the tendency of comparing themselves to
others and thinking that everyone is focusing on the fact that the
subject isn't winning this shows the formation of an imaginary
audience .

Conclusion
The subject might have acted cautious as he knew he was being
observed
The researcher might have written some statements in a certain
tone by preexisting biases
The subject might have started feeling bored or tired because of
being observed for 60 minutes
The actions of the subject were unpredictable at times which
made it a bit difficult to observe
Due to this research being a subjective one everyone might not
reach the same conclusions
Reflection
Observing the subject taught me so much. I saw their curiosity
and their excitement about learning. It was clear that they were
growing and changing. But I also realized that every child is
unique, and their development is a complex journey. It reminded
me of the importance of patience and understanding in
supporting their growth.
