Choose this service if you are applying for a residence permit on the basis of work.
Please note, according to the Aliens Act, an application for a first residence permit must
usually be submitted outside Finland. Since the legislative amendments have entered into
force on the 1st of September 2024, we will apply a stricter approach to applications for a
first residence permit that have been submitted in Finland.
You can get a negative residence permit decision if you apply for a first residence
permit in Finland
There are certain situations where you can apply for a first residence permit in
Finland, for example if
you already have a certificate or a visa for seasonal work and want to continue
doing seasonal work or work in Finland directly after your certificate or visa for
seasonal work expires, you can apply for a residence permit for work or seasonal
work in Finland
you are applying for a residence permit as a researcher
you are applying for a residence permit with the basis of human trafficking or
employment-based exploitation
Each application will be examined individually. When making a decision on your
residence permit application, all facts and circumstances affecting your situation will
be taken into account

If you are applying with a paper form, please also bring with you
your filled-in application form

If your family member applies at the same time as you, you must book a family
appointment and each of you should fill in your own application.
Please come on time in order not to miss your appointment.
If you have booked an appointment, you must be there when it begins or cancel your
appointment at least 4 hours before it begins. Otherwise you will be charged a fee of 50
euros.

Arrival Guidance
The entrance is on Albertinkatu, next to the yellow wooden building, opposite the Finnkino
car park building. If you are coming by car, there are car parks and parking spaces on
nearby streets. Due to a construction site, the building itself has no parking space. Parking
on the neighbouring house’s driveway or yard is not allowed.

2. Fill in reservation key and pin code, and log in.
3. Choose if you want to Modify or Cancel the reservation.
