COURSE TITLE Disaster Nursing
COURSE DESCRIPTION  This course deals with concepts, principles theories, techniques and strategies in disaster risk-
reduction and management to groups of clients in any setting. The learners are expected to
demonstrate safe, appropriate and holistic care to clients utilizing the nursing process in reducing the
risk of disaster to help save lives and build resilience.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES 1. Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural and health sciences, and humanities in the practice of
nursing.

2. Provide safe, appropriate, and holistic care to individuals, families, population groups, and community
utilizing nursing process.
3. Apply guidelines and principles of evidence-based practice in the delivery of care.
4. Practice nursing in accordance with existing laws, legal, ethical and moral principles and standards.
5. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing, and presenting using culturally appropriate language.
6. Document to include reporting up-to-date client care accurately and comprehensively. assessment

COURSE POLICIES
1. Students must participate and log-in regularly through the school LMS and class GC using their full name. For further inquiries,
contact your teacher through the contact details provided in this course guide.

2. Students are required to participate in the synchronous/asynchronous class via google meet, online interaction (e-discussion/threaded
discussion) posted in the LMS/GC. Interaction and participation in the online discussions is highly encouraged as it is one of the basis
for the tracking of your learning progress. Proper grooming including appropriate background during synchronous sessions should be
observed at all time.
3. Students must follow the class schedule and complete the required activities indicated in the course guide.
Activities/assignments/quizzes should be accomplished within the schedule indicated in the Course Guide.
4. Online synchronous quizzes will be on the LMS with a given limited time duration.
5. Students must practice independence and utmost honesty in accomplishing all their designated activities. Plagiarism is strictly
prohibited. When using date from other sources, cite your references properly.
6. Submission of any requirements must be in accordance with the deadlines given above. Late submission of any requirements, without
valid reason, will be given credit of 80% of their obtained score. Failure to comply with the requirements for this subject will incur NG
in that particular grading period.
7. Students who does not participate on the scheduled learning activities and who have not submitted at least 30% of the requirements
for the whole duration of the class schedule shall be considered dropped, thus, does not qualify for completion and requirements
submitted during the completion period will not be considered.
8. Students are encouraged to consult with their teachers through the consolation h ours indicated by the teacher in this course guide.
Students must observe proper netiquette when messaging teachers and conversing with fellow students at all times.
Example: avoid using offensive words, Full UPPER CASE (Caps Lock) and inserting irrelevant subjects, and using jargons, shortcuts
(jejemon words).
