other?
s) At what pressure would it be possible to find this substance in the gas, liquid, and solid
phase?
t) If I had a quantity of this substance at a pressure of 1.00 atm and a temperature of -1000

temperature(s) would they occur?
u) If I had a quantity of this substance at a pressure of 2.00 atm and a temperature of -1500
C, what phase change(s) would occur if I decreased the pressure to 0.25 atm? At what
pressure(s) would they occur?

2. Draw a schematic phase diagram for a unary (one component) system that has three different
crystalline modifications in solid state.
(i) Label the areas and give the names of the boundary lines
(ii) Apply the phase rule principle to one of the triple points of the phase diagram and explain
the meaning of your result.

3. Using the unary phase diagram of Fe, sketch the cooling curve of Fe as it cools from 2000 ℃
to 500 ℃ at a constant pressure of 5  10-5 atm as shown by the vertical line in Figure Q3.
