picki ng and t he f all har vest had start ed. The f ar m st or e was bustli ng wi th peopl e
comi ng t o buy meat and bread f or their evening meals. Mi mi was busy i n the
ki tchen, whil e Richard was wor ki ng on var ious pr oj ects on t he f arm. Now, i t is
har d to bel ieve that onl y four years ago t his 75 -acre far m was overgr own fi elds
and a few derelict buildings.

next advent ur e.

t rul y held meaning in t he i r lif e. They sol d thei r home in t he suburbs and moved
i nt o their lit tle f ar mhouse. Richard commut ed back and for th unt il t hey found t hei r
cur rent far m, j ust a mil e from t heir pr evious place i n Ghent , New Yor k. They
i nvest ed t heir lif e savings t o buil d Mad e i n Ghent, knowi ng well that it meant their
business had to become sustai nabl e in order t o not have t o return to t heir previous
cit y l i ves.
