Cách sử dụng: QKĐ chỉ 1 hành động đã xảy ra và đã hoàn tất trong quá khứ, có chỉ rõ thời gian.
Từ báo dạng: ago, last night / last week / last month / last year …, yesterday, the day before yesterday (ngày
hôm kia), once (adv): đã có lần, the other day (mới hôm rồi, the other week (mới tuần rồi), năm trong quá
khứ ,ngày tháng năm trong quá khứ, thế kỹ trong quá khứ.
b. Past continuous (Quá khứ tiếp diễn)

Cách sử dụng: QKTD chỉ 1 hành động đã xảy ra trước, còn đang diễn tiến thì bị quá khứ đơn làm gián
đoạn.
Từ báo dạng:

QKĐ dùng chung QKTD:
When + S + Ved / V2, S + was / were V-ing = While + S + was / were V-ing, S + Ved / V2. (Chú ý: When +
S + was / were V-ing, S + Ved /V2: QKTD trong mệnh đề when cho biết hành động xãy ra khi nào. QKTD
