Stock Consolidation

Consolidating partial quantities of products with the same stock

attributes allows you to free up storage space and makes full quantities
available for a full quantity pick.

It often occurs that partial quantities of products with the same stock
attributes are located in different storage bins in your warehouse.

Those partial quantities occupy storage space which therefore is not

available for other stock. Consolidating those partial quantities allows you
to free up storage space and makes full quantities available for a full
quantity pick.
The following figure shows stock consolidation to create a full pallet
quantity:
You identify partial quantities of products with the same stock attributes
and combine them to make full quantities.
To start stock consolidation, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose
Extended Warehouse Management Work Scheduling Consolidate Stock
When you enter the stock consolidation criteria, you can also make the
following settings:

Choose which unit of measure to use for a complete quantity

Consider stock in handling units and unpacked stock for consolidation
Limit the number of moves allowed for consolidation
Decide whether partial quantities can be split into smaller quantities to
help reach a full quantity
Choose a minimum percentage of a full quantity that must be reached by
each proposal
The system proposes consolidation options. You can select the proposals
you want to perform and create ad hoc warehouse tasks from the report.
The warehouse tasks are ready for execution immediately after creation.
Note that stock consolidation does not support the use of warehouse
requests or waves.
Stock Consolidation Criteria
Stock consolidation groups the stock items to consolidate according to
stock keys, such as the following:

The combination of product and batch

Stock type
Party entitled to dispose
Owner
Number of the sales order or project for special stock
Sales order item for sales order stock
Stock usage
Quality inspection document
Quality inspection type
Identification number of stock
The system puts items that match these criteria into the same group
for potential consolidation.

Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) are available that allow the system to

consider customer-specific fields
.
When consolidating at a work center, there is no particular grouping
available.

The system creates one group with all stock items that match the
selection criteria. The system proposes moving all those stock items
to a work center, regardless of common stock attributes.
Process

During idle times in the warehouse, you want to create warehouse tasks
to consolidate partial quantities.

The process works as follows:

You decide which of the proposals for consolidation to implement and

create the warehouse tasks.

If you want to limit the number of moves allowed for consolidation, you
enter the maximum number of moves allowed.

You start the Consolidate Stock transaction and enter the stock
attributes of the stock you want to consolidate.
The system proposes moves for consolidation.
