Character of Abrahams Faith
1. His faith seen in his earlier calling and of Gods
promise to him.
2. -- Gen. 12:3 The Lord had said to Abram,"Go
from your country, your people and your father's
household to the land I will show you."
2. His faith is the result of his understanding of Gods
plan for his life and the nations.
--Galatians 3:8 Scripture foresaw that God would
justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the
gospel in advance to Abraham: All nations will be
blessed through you.
--What is faith is the ability to see the unseen and
true believing is obedience.

James 2:21Was not our father Abraham
considered righteous for what he did when
he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You
see that his faith and his actions were
working together, and his faith was made
complete by what he did.

book of Genesis, the life of Abraham and
the life of Isaac

2:21-22 Hebrews 11: 17-19
What the offering of Isaac
reveal concerning the faith
of Abraham:
1. It revealed an obedience = Jam 2:21, 22
2. It revealed a faith that obeys with exactness
--Genesis 22:2 Then God said, Take your son,
your only son, whom you loveIsaacand go
to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as
a burnt offering on a mountain I will show
you.
What = Burnt offering
Whom = Isaac
Where = Mount Moriah
3. It reveled a faith would obey without question.
--Romans 4:20-22 Yet he did not waver
through unbelief regarding the promise
of God, but was strengthened in his
faith and gave glory to God, 21being
fully persuaded that God had power to
do what he had promised. 22This is why
it was credited to him as
righteousness.

regardless the cost.
