MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Definition of "heavy machinery"
Heavy machinery is a class of machinery that uses a large amount of fuel to operate
driven by a driver, and is used to perform tasks such as earth moving, heavy lifting,
demolition, excavation or transport of material. To use heavy machinery it is
necessary to have special licenses.
Heavy machinery applications
Earth movement
Heavy equipment, such as bulldozers and road rollers, are used in construction, agriculture and road construction to eliminate dirt deposits and irregularities without
problems.
Lifting heavy objects
Cranes, forklifts and other heavy machinery are required to move steel beams, grain silos, concrete blocks and other materials used in the construction of ships,
bridges, towers and other very heavy structures.
Demolition
Concrete shears, demolition balls and hydraulic hammers are examples of heavy equipment used to demolish commercial and residential buildings.
Transport
In order to transport large and heavy objects such as cut wood or concrete, heavy machinery industries such as forestry and those used in road construction use heavy
equipment such as loaders of logs and tractors-trailers.
Other examples
Heavy equipment is continuously being designed to perform tasks that previously required many hours of manual labor. Some examples are the conventional
excavators and backhoes, the cosechadoras, the desramadoras, the snow plows and the trucks of cement.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
The hydraulic systems in the equipment and heavy vehicles are generally constituted by a:
deposit: whose function is to store the working liquid (oil in this case)
pump: responsible for circulating the liquid in the circuits at certain pressures
lift valve: designed to regulate the pressure of the liquid in the system
distributor valve: operated by the operator through a lever to direct the flow of liquid to the different working
bodies
one or more cylinders and motors: able to perform their work under a hydraulic pressure
pipes and connections: used to circulate the liquid from the tank to the work organs and allow their
subsequent return
filter: whose only and most important mission is to ensure that small particles that break off throughout its
entire length are eliminated from the liquid.
How does a backhoe work?
The backhoe has a hydraulic system for its operation. The heart of this machinery is a
powerful hydraulic pump and a main valve that distributes the oil by pressure
through the different parts that require it to move. In the cabin are the control controls
that send fluid to the area that is selected for it to move. Depending on how much you
want to move the part, less or more fluid is sent, achieving precision in the
movements.
How does a heartbreaking tractor work?
The rippers form an assembly with the machine and come mounted on the back and its management is carried out by a highly
effective and rapid hydraulic control, to apply upward or downward pressure. The main purpose of the rippers is to facilitate the
breakage of the ground, since the large surface of the thrust blade prevents this break in difficult terrain.
Variety of tasks for which the wreckers are used
Break and destroy dirt roads to facilitate their subsequent re-leveling through motor graders and bulldozers.
Break asphalt roads, for later renovation.
Loosen land, to facilitate leveling or removal of land.
Break hard, waterproof layers.
Loosen the sub floor
AutoVolk
The self-propelled, self-propelled motovolquete or dump truck (also called dumper, of
English) is a vehicle used in construction for the transport of light materials, and consists
of a tipper, hopper or tilting box, for unloading, either forward or laterally, by gravity or
hydraulically. It also has a front or double axle drive, with the rear directional. It differs
substantially from the dump truck or dumper truck in its configuration: the self-propelled
motor-pack usually has the cargo container in the front in front of the driver, while the
dump truck has it in the rear, behind the driver's cab.
