PRESENT SIMPLE
The Present Simple tense is used to describe actions, events, or
situations that are habitual, general truths, or regularly occur
The Form:
Affirmative Sentences:
(I, you, we, they), use the base form of the verb (no change).
Example: I eat breakfast at 7 a.m.
he, she, it (third person singular), add -s or -es to the verb.
Example: She eats breakfast at 7 a.m.
Negative Sentences:
Use do not (don’t) or does not (doesn’t) with the base form of
the verb.
Example (I/you/we/they): I don’t like spicy food.
Example (he/she/it): She doesn’t like spicy food.
Questions:
Use do or does at the beginning of the sentence and the base
form of the verb.
Example (I/you/we/they): Do you like pizza?
Example (he/she/it): Does she like pizza?
PAST SIMPLE
The Past Simple tense is used to describe actions or situations that
happened and finished in the past.
The form:
Affirmative Sentences:
Subject + verb + ed (for regular verbs)
Example: She walked to school yesterday.
Irregular verbs have their own past forms (e.g., go → went, eat → ate).
Example: He ate lunch at noon.
Negative Sentences:
Subject + did not (didn’t) + base form of the verb
Example: I didn’t watch the movie last night.
Example with irregular verb: She didn’t go to the party.
Questions:
Did + subject + base form of the verb?
Example: Did you visit the museum?
Example with irregular verb: Did he go to the concert?
FUTURE SIMPLE
The future simple tense is used to describe actions or events that will
happen in the future.
The form:
Affirmative:
Subject + will + base verb
Example: She will travel to Paris.
Negative:
Subject + will not (won't) + base verb
Example: They will not (won't) attend the meeting.
Question:
Will + subject + base verb?
Example :Will you come to the party?
PRESENT PERFECT
The present perfect tense is used to describe actions or events that
happened at an unspecified time in the past but are connected
to the present
The form
Affirmative:
Subject + have/has + past participle
Example: They have seen that movie.
Negative:
Subject + have/has + not + past participle
Example: She hasn't finished her work.
Question:
Have/Has + subject + past participle?
Example: Have you met him?

Used to compare two things or people


for one syllable adjective ,we add –er to the adjective
(short adjectives)

Used to show that something has the highest or lowest degree of


quality in a group of three or more things or people.

MODAL VERBS SHOULD BE USED

 Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, widely known as Mahatma
Gandhi, was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, Gujarat,
India. He was the leader of the Indian independence
movement against British colonial rule. Trained as a lawyer in
London, he began his activism in South Africa, where he
fought against racial discrimination. Upon returning to India,
he led several nationwide campaigns for civil rights, non-

resistance and satyagraha. His iconic Salt March in 1930 and
the Quit India Movement in 1942 were pivotal moments in
India's journey to independence. Gandhi's philosophy
influenced civil rights leaders across the globe, including
Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. He was tragically
assassinated in 1948, but his legacy as a symbol of peace,
justice, and non-violence endures worldwide. Mahatma

My ideal English teacher was someone who brought
joy and memories to the classroom. She was
patient, kind, and willing to help whenever needed. In class,
her upbeat demeanor gave me confidence and comfort. I
loved how she encouraged us
to express our opinions and how she had a way of making
lessons engaging. Her compassionate nature was
the most notable feature. She gave everyone her full
attention and made them feel valued. I still recall all that she
taught me, not only about English but also about treating
people with kindness and respect. I continue to apply the
lessons she taught me even now, after she left. Her devotion
and generosity made a deep impression on me.
