ACTIVE RECREATION

(SPORTS)
ACTIVITY I – WARM YOU UP!
• INSTRUCTION:

- Choose a partner.
- Do light jogging around the venue to gradually elevate
your heart rate.
- Stretch your leg, arms, back and neck for several
minute.
ACTIVITY 2 – WHAT IS IT FOR YOU?
• Form groups of five to eight members each.
• Using a concept map, write a word associated with “lifestyle” inside
the circle. You may add more circles if necessary. Do this in your
notebook.
• Focus on the following:
- Describe the word given.
- What are the words commonly given by the group? Why do you think
these words were given?
- What words were mentioned only once? Are these words important?
• Define lifestyle based on the words given by each member.
• Choose one representative to do the presentation for 3 minutes.

• PROCEDURE:
1. Using a checklist, put a checkmark on the practices that
show healthy weight management and cross mark on the
unhealthy ones. Explain your answer briefly. Do this in
your notebook.
2. Concentrate on the following:
- What practice do you consider healthy or unhealthy?
- Why are these practices considered healthy or unhealthy?
3. Discuss your answers with your seatmate.

• Weight loss –
- Energy consumed is less than energy expended. More physical exertion
but less food intake.
• Weight maintenance –
- Energy consumed equals energy expended. Physical exertion is the
same as food intake
