Maruti Suzuki India Private Limited was established in 1981 as Maruti Udyog Limited and became a joint venture with Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan in 1983. It is now a subsidiary of Suzuki and India's largest car manufacturer. Maruti Suzuki produces and sells popular small cars like Maruti 800, Alto, WagonR, Swift, SX4, and DZire. It has a large network of sales and service outlets across India and has sold over 6 million cars to date. Maruti Suzuki continues to strengthen its position in India through new models, marketing strategies, and expansion of production and distribution facilities.
