– A Data Steward can be anybody in the organization (business or technical)
that defines, produces, and/or uses data as part of their job if they are
held formally accountable for what they do with the data.
• What does it mean to be held formally accountable?
– This is the basis of the Non‐Invasive Approach to Governance.
– Written into job description and performance evaluation.
– Given time and tools to perform the function.
– Given knowledge to perform the function.
