Ron Garan is a decorated NASA astronaut, fighter pilot, test pilot, and social entrepreneur. He has spent 178 days in space traveling over 71 million miles on two space shuttle and Russian Soyuz missions, where he conducted four spacewalks. Garan believes the biggest challenge facing the space industry is reducing launch costs to make space more accessible. He sees the industry establishing a permanent human presence on the moon and basic infrastructure between Earth and the moon in the next 10 years.
