The document presents a cross-layer design for power control and link availability in mobile ad hoc networks, addressing challenges of frequent topology changes and limited battery life. The proposed Dynamic Power Control Protocol and Link Prediction (DPCPLP) integrates optimum transmit power and received signal strength to enhance route stability and conserve energy, ultimately improving the network's performance and lifetime. Simulations indicate that this approach offers superior results in power conservation and link reliability compared to traditional methods.
