I work as part of the ELIXIR project which is an EU Life science infrastructure dedicated to supporting and sustaining data, infrastructure, and training within participating European countries.
My position is currently leading the development of TeSS; a training portal that aggregates, organises, and disseminates Life science training resources. The first iteration was a pilot developed by adapting CKAN - THE data cataloguing software. We decided to rebuild using Ruby on Rails for our production version because of CKANs limitations and rigidity in configurability.
